What is plagiarism?
In my own understanding, plagiarism is the act of duplicating someone else's work or ideas as his or her own. Its happening everywhere in the world, people think that is the easiest way to pass, but in steemit platform is not because everyone post is been check and verified.
Types of plagiarism.
• Self-plagiarism: means converting your own past work, but this type of plagiarism is not accepted in steemit platform.
• Paraphrasing plagiarism: means rephrasing someone else’s ideas or work to submit them as your own.
• Mosaic plagiarism: It may be more difficult to observe because it interlays someone else’s words or text within its own analysis. It is also recognized as patchwork plagiarism and it is intentional and dishonest.
• Accidental plagiarism: This is the act of duplicating someone else's work and forgetting to put the quotation of the work, this is normally done during citations. Example
I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together. By Martin Luther King
• Verbatim plagiarism: as the name signifies it is the act of copying from a persons work and totally past ion get it without even trying to edit it, it is complete copy and paste.
How to avoid plagiarism
• Try to write in your own words.
• Always try to cite your words with sources.
• Try to give the original author credit.
