Growing Up In A Rural Or Urban Area

Introduction

Life in a rural area is very much different from that in an urban area. You can imagine yourself sitting on your porch, watching the sun set over the rolling hills of a rural community. The air is clear, the atmosphere is cool, the stars shine brightly in the night sky and you may even see a few fireflies, around adding beauty to the place.

In the Urban areas, the life there is also different from that of the rural area as well. Also imagine siting on a busy city street, surrounded by massive buildings and the sound of traffic. The lights are always on, and the people are rushing by on their way to work or running errands, and there's a continuous sign of activity.

Sometimes, it comes as a debated topic, - living in a rural or urban area, which is better? Different opinions and answers are been poured in. Let's delve into this topic - Growing Up In A Rural Or Urban Area, where we shall talk about the differences, experiences and expectations. Let's begin!

There are numerous differences between the urban and rural areas, but as the contest rules/questions demands, below are the three major features differentiating between urban and rural areas.

Urban AreasRural Areas
1. Urban areas (towns and cities) are densely populated, with many people living in a relatively small space.Rural areas (villages) have low population density.
2. Urban areas (towns and cities) are typically more developed with a range of available service and infrastructure.Rural Areas (villages) on the other hand, often have poor accessibility to things like paved roads, hospitals, public transportation and other infrastructures.
3. Lastly, the pace of life in the urban areas are often fast with people on the go at all time. Mostly, not much time for some activities to enjoy simple things of life, like spending time outdoor and more.In the rural areas the pace of life is often much slower than in urban areas. People often have time to enjoy simple thing in life.

Which area did you grow up and why?

I grew up in an urban area in the city of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria. The place is actually located in one of the six area councils of FCT, specifically the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC). Although, when it was due time for my mother to give birth to me, she left for the village for some reasons and stayed for some time untill I was delivered. Immediately I was given birth to, my mother took me back to the city which is where I grew up and still where I am currently.

I was supposed to grow up in the village with my mother, but because of the kind of work she was doing at that time, she had to resume back early which was not the only reason, but also to find something doing to assist my father in taking care of my little self.

If you were told to go to the area you didn't grow up from, will you?

Yes I will!
Why do you think I will accept to go to a place where I didn't grow up from?
It is because I can't stay in one place for the whole of my life. I need to explore other places of the world and see the beauty in it. The village where I came from, I don't actually have much time to visit there for a long period of time. So if I was given the opportunity to visit that place, I won't hesitate to accept that offer.

Although, there may be things that may hinder me from accepting to go, is the availability of major resources. Such resources which are very important to me which I obviously can't stay without are good and stable network transmission, steady power supply and good water. But if these things are present, I can't see anything that can stop me from going there.

What things are there in the area you grew up from that aren't in the other?

There are a lot of things that are in the place I grew up in (which is an urban area) that are not in the others (rural areas). Well, the major things are;

  • There is no time that the place not busy. Even on public holidays, the streets are busy. The pace of life in the urban areas are generally faster than that of the rural areas. The people are always on the go, the streets are busy and there is a lot of hustle bustle.

  • There is availability of infrastructures that made life easier for the people who resides there. Things like, good road, pipe borne water supply, power supply, hospitals, school and relaxation centers make life easier.

  • Another thing which is not found in other place, is the population density. The population in the place where I grew up (Urban areas) is very high in a very little space. But in other places (rural areas) the population density is low.

Conclusion

To sum it all up, there are many advantages and disadvantages to living in both urban and rural areas. Urban areas offers a good range of convenience and amenities, but they can be noisy and over crowded. The rural areas are more peaceful, with the unpolluted natural atmosphere, but offer a slower pace of life and lav of some convenience or amenities that can be found in the urban areas.

Ultimately, it is up to every individual to decide where and what type of environment is good for them. I can know about your choice in the comments section.

Hello dear, I wish to you to be in peace and living their best moments of life. You are right, both the areas are very different from each other but both areas have an important place in a person's life. A person living in an urban area goes to a rural area for peace of mind and a person living in a rural area goes to a rural area for employment comes to the city in search of new opportunities.
I enjoyed reading your post. Wish you good may you always achieve whatever you aim for yourself in life and make the best journey .Greetings from me Have a beautiful.

Greetings friend emmy01, you gave a good opinion regarding the challenge questions.

One of the main differences is the size of the population, I agree with you about that, plus there are more employment opportunities and demand to study more careers and professions.

I suppose that in the rural environment there are no buildings and infrastructure like there are in cities, that is a difference.

Partner I wish you the best and success, happy day.

I think if we want true relations then villages or rural areas are best to find sincere people as people of villages are very simple and mostly they don't focus on giving harm to anyone but when we live in urban area then we have people of our level and they always wants to harm you for the sake of their personal benefits but this not happens every time and I am just giving a generalised idea that in which area people are more simple and sincere but over all there is a mixture of people live in different areas.

Good luck to you for your efforts you made.
