Not too old to learn by @emy2018
=================
I admire the elderly people who still show up to life with a readiness to learn, those who dare to live their lives to the fullest despite the ocean of old people complaining that it's too late to change.
It beats me when I hear people say things like..."I'd have done this or that if I were younger," yadayada, as if growing older is synonymous with growing into a full-blown learning paralysis.
People make all sort of excuses to avoid learning, and It has become an easy escape from even making an attempt at anything. They simply push out the comfortable lie - that they are old, and therefore, can't do much learning; sending a clear signal to the brain to start shutting down.
They place a lid on their potentials, and install a different software in their minds - that fights every form of new knowledge. They'd rather marry the past, irrespective of how toxic the relationship turns out to be.
Let me confess, that "old age" excuse hits me differently when it comes from people below the age of 50. How do you end your life when there's a wealth of time before you? Please comrades, break my heart no more.
Age should not be use when goals can't be achieved. It’s true that getting older comes with a higher risk that your body won’t function as well as it used to, but it doesn’t mean you should retreat from life.
Do the best you can while you are here, surround yourself with people who are mentally young (regardless of their biological age), and there’s no risk you’ll ever turn into those bitter, cranky old people who are only just waiting for a physical death (because mentally , they’ve already passed away).
