CLIMB THE LADDER PART 2-min.png

The ladder of success is best climbed by stepping on the rungs of opportunity.
~Ayn Rand~

Nice quote right there. Now, go step on those rungs!

If you haven't yet, I encourage you to check out Part 1 of this post series. If you have, let's proceed!

No, I am not talking about the misconception of confidence of being able to walk up to that girl at the bar. That is not confidence.

Having the confidence I speak of can also be said as 'having certainty'.

In my opinion, there is no greater form of confidence than having utter certainty. Having direction, and a true purpose. That is confidence. Not the 21st century crap that all our younger generations are being misconceived about.

This is a serious matter. Having confidence in your direction, and more so, your abilities, can set you apart from majority of other people. I would estimate and say maybe only 0.2-0.5% of people have true confidence in themselves.

Your ego.. This is yet, another big one. This point definitely interlinks with all the other points in some way.

Your ego is a huge influencer on your ability to be open-minded, and your ability to be coachable. It also has a huge deciding factor on how you act-out on your confidence.

When being coached, and taking valuable information from someone who has achieved more than you have, you need to be able to set your ego aside. This is in my opinion the toughest thing to do.

We limit a lot of the opportunities around us because our ego's need to remain alive. Teach yourself to put that ego aside, and just try and grow from anything somebody tells you.

Stay tuned for Part 3, where I will bring in all these points, and talk about my thought of how you can integrate them with gaining a better approach to climbing the Steemit ladder! Let me know your thoughts in a nice comment. If your comment is above average, I will make you a personal thumbnail, and put in the effort once again to give you a resourceful response. I have 28K SP, and I enjoy rewarding effort!

You new idea of making a personalized picture and comment is sooo innovative, so cool. It brings "showing appreciation" to whole new level 🔥.

I really like that you are trying to develop from an expert motivator to an innovator.
You are now walking on the same path jerrybanfield went with his ideas. Keep it up. Talk soon.

An ego is like a huge rock that blocks the flowing water.
Because of that barrier, we are not able to use our ability to learn.

Thanks for sharing another wonderful article.

An ego is like a huge rock that blocks the flowing water.

Oh damn sooonnnn!! :P Nice one.

It's inly my pleasure for sharing :) Thank you for that!

It is all very true.
Learn how to take in criticism.
Learn to listen to every suggestion even if you made up your mind already, just listen you might be able to take some in to make your own idea better.

I am glad you agree :) Definitely. We all need to learn how to take our criticism.

I totally agree! We basically need to tailor our decisions around other people's perspectives :)

I think the most difficult of things is to implement any type of change into your life. Your old self is feeling comfortable as is and tries it's hardest to resist any change. That's why it's hard to take criticism or be coached, your "old-self" doesn't want you to change. Your old-self doesn't want you to succeed. It just wants you to stay as you are. And I think that "having an Ego" falls exactly into that department. Your old-self thinks it's perfect and will stand it's ground. But in order to change, though you need to beat your old-self. You need to know that you yourself are your worst enemy. .... .... Or your greatest ally. And the most beautiful of all things is, you get to choose.

Not trying to promote myself on your post by any means, but I don't want this reply to turn into a 7 foot long wall of text, so if you're feeling like it, check out my latest post that's basically a short guide to changing yourself for the better. (I will edit this out if needed. Just felt like it adds some additional value.)

Upvoted though! Always love your posts!

My man! Excellently said. It's very true.

I see it the same as growing in any part in life. Even in the gym. There is 0% time for your muscles to want to go through the weight-lifting period. That's why there is something called pain. But guess what happens when you take that pain in the gym? Your body adapts.

So very true. It's purely our brains tricking us, that we feel 'comfortable'. It's really just being lazy. When you are in bed, you do not want to get out. But when you do get get out of bed, and say you immediately just force yourself to do 10 pushups.. You won't feel the same afterwards. You will now be comfortable in the zone that (10 seconds ago) was your uncomfortable zone.

Interesting isn't it.. Nice comment. No worries about the length. Never feel ashamed of that! Length shows effort in your comments. I have received many comments 4x this length many times. Do as you feel is good for you!

Take care. Stay awesome!

Completely agreed!

And just staying inbetween four walls not doing anything and being lazy is, in my opinion, the fastest way to feeling down, sad and depressed. The more you go out and into the world, the more you push yourself, the happier a (wo)man you become!

Thanks for the quality reply! :D And yes, very important:

Do as you feel is good for you!

Likewise! Read you around! :D

I totally agree!

For me specifically, I am in hustle and grind mode. I currently try sacrifice almost every second I have spare into trying to improve expand.

But I can safely say, one of these days, when I am retired, I am going to be out enjoying life, and just having a great time. I cannot wait!

staying inbetween four walls not doing anything and being lazy is, in my opinion, the fastest way to feeling down

Totally agreed! It very much is so. Mainly for the lazy part haha

when I am retired, I am going to be out enjoying life, and just having a great time

I do agree, but to a certain extent. I don't like the mindset of "I need to suffer now to enjoy myself later". That way you keep telling yourself you are suffering and therefore indeed are suffering.

I enjoy what I do, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, but at the end of the day I'm happy I worked my ass off hardest. It's not just the final destination that matters, it's the journey. The challenges we face on the road to success are half the fun! :D

I am certain you yourself are like this aswell, but those words can be understood much differently aswell.

WOW man I just love the way you described that. Honestly, that was awesome.

You are most certainly correct. The journey is the fun!! There is no real destination. It's 100% journey up until (I presume) the point of death.

I actually like to say I work my ass off actually hahaha, but the for me is, I enjoy the grind. It is a journey on it's own. Sure it's exhausting, and sometimes I really question myself with the things I do, but it's a journey in it's own.

I definitely agree that going the more stable (but still hardworking) way is great. I am also a believer in doing 'launches', and not just starting something. Doing the grind, means you are going 10X. There is no rest. It's hectic, but at the same time, the longer-term rewards are 10X. It is not sustainable to remain this way, but when starting anything, I do believe in going absolutely all out.

However, after 3-6 months of grind, it is definitely necessary to pull it back a notch, and start living a far more balanced life.

Nice point of view :)

Thanks ^^

Exactly! And let's be honest here, you, nor I, fall in a group of people that would even be able to just lay down and do nothing. We neeeeeed stuff going on. We need the challenge! :D

True. Starting something out is the hardest. Always. But looking back at how much you've done and how many people you've affected, is all damn worth it! :D

Couldn't agree more that sometimes you indeed need to go out of overcharge. I've had a burnout myself and am at times still feeling consequence. So now I have to force myself to take it a little easier. Imagine the horrors haha :D

Oh WOW yeah. It's pretty crazy hey.

I can understand if you have been burnt out.. I am also taking a break every hour today, just to get back a clear mind. I would definitely say it's not possible to work for 18 hours haha. We need breaks.

I can imagine the horrors..

I like this. Luckily for me i have a great boss who is quite successful and has been showing me the way for years. He doesnt let my pride get in the way but he also gives me the opportunity to succeed at every turn. He has put confidence in my abilities which in turn has made me more confident in my job and in life in general.
I know where im heading now and where i want to get to and dont plan on letting anything stop me from doing that.
I have definitely made some mistakes but all you can do is learn from them and don't let them effect your belief in yourself.

This is awesome man! Great. I'm happy that you have a good person in your life giving you the proper guidance!

Confidence is very important. Staying humble with a mix of true confidence, to me, is the best combination!:)

haha love the picture. appreciate the post man have started following you :P

Thanks so much :) Glad you like it!

Stay tuned for Part 3 :)

I got the ego all humbled, I have the certainty in place, my issue is all the headspace talk. I overthink to the point of procrastination. I have conversations over and over and over in my head. My own thoughts seem to waste so much of my time. I really need to focus on mind stillness so I can get more things done! I re-steemed to help others, and so I can remember to check your blog for inspiration. Thanks so much!

Thank you for your honesty. I think you are on the right track by knowing yourself :)

I overthink to the point of procrastination.

Don't stress, you aren't the only person out there doing so haha. Luckily every challenge can be beaten :)

I used to be the biggest over-thinker out there. Always had thoughts going through my head. I almost school because of that.

The main lesson I learnt was this acronym: K.I.S.S. - Keep It Stupid Simple.

Don't think, just do. As sad as it sounds, life does not consider whether you have a lot to think about or not.. The only thing it wants, is what it asks for. And thinking ain't it :)

Think for 10 seconds, then apply for 2 hours. Rinse and repeat. Let's see how much different your result will be :)

@enazwahsdarb This really helps!!! Thank you so much. I have found lately that just jump off that proverbial cliff, it's much easier....Yesssss K.I.S.S. works and I also think to myself Just.Do.It!!!! ;)

Having confidence is key in making a decision, but I think it's also key to be just as confident to apologize / admittting when you're wrong so you can move on and learn from your mistakes as well.

Taking one step down may be the key to getting 2 steps forward that much quicker.

WOW very nicely said. That is pretty much it hey.

The confidence I speak of is certainty. So That will contradict admitting that you are wrong through 'confidence' :P

But that i also why I added EGO into the spectrum. Because by being confident (Certain), and putting our EGO's aside, we create the perfect combination.

Very nicely said! By the way, how are you doing, Gnik? :)

I'm doing good. Working hard here on steemit to keep growing and become a better at creating value for those here on steemit.

How are you doing enazwahsdarb?

How are you doing enazwahsdarb?

My real name is Zane :)

And I am always doing fantastic thank you my man! I'm glad you are working hard here. Put that quality content out there, and you are going to kill it with consistency and persistence :)

My next post will be up in about an hour.

Awesome can't wait. Read my username backwards and you might be able to figure out my name as well. Is that where your username comes from?

Hahaha no ways! Great minds think alike. Nice one, Travis :)

I like the quote from the beginning of posting. We need to trust ourselves in everything we do and take advantage of all the opportunities that life offers us

Thanks! I'm glad you liked that quote. I also liked it when I came across it (Hence why I used it :P).

Nicely said :)

Great article. I always had trouble finding an exact route. I recently started "brainwashing myslef" by writing goals and reading them every morning. Maybe there's something there, when it comes to this MANIFESTING.

I am happy that you are brainwashing yourself. That is great.

It takes discipline, but it surely pays off.

Always remember, the manifestation part requires action :) Go for GOLD!!

"Business is like riding a bicycle - either you keep moving or you fall down." I like your reasoning on this topic. Apparently, my success does not come to me because of the absence of EGO

Hey @tanata! Nice quote right there :) Very true. By the way, what is your real name? Tanata? :)

I'm glad you like my reasoning! :) Thank you for that. I appreciate it.

Wow, very expressive answer, thank you) My real name is Lyudmila :)

Thank you for that, Lyudmila! :) I will take it as a compliment!

I checked out your blog. Is that you in your pictures? I couldn't really tell, as I cannot two pictures of you in the same outfit :D They are all different lol. If that is you, then you are very pretty!

I see you have been here for quite a while. 359 total blog posts is quite a bit. I'm wondering why you aren't earning more? Very intrigued.

Thanks, I'll take this for a compliment too.) Yes, these are my photos, I like to be photographed. I'm tormented by the same question - why have not I become a millionaire?

Tell you what, you can drop me a message on Discord or Steemit.Chat, and I will give you my opinion of what I think I can help you with to improve :) I'll leave the choice to you whether you want my constructive criticism or not :)

My name is the same throughout.

Thank you, I consider you a competent participant of the platform and I will be grateful for your opinion! I'll find you in the chat!

I really appreciate that compliment :) Just know I don't usually do this for people haha :D I just really feel like you deserve better.
