Quick Tidbits and Take-aways About Sagittarius

The true Sagittarius is an inveterate traveler, fascinated by foreign adventures and eager to embrace "foreign ideas" if he sees ways these can enrich his life. If he isn't constantly off on an actual trip, he definitely is involved in journeys of the mind -- as an eclectic reader and indefatigable student.

Defining Sagittarius

Sagittarius shares certain traits with other Zodiac signs, but makes them uniquely his own. Aquarius is maybe a little more independent, but Sagittarius is not as eccentric as Aquarius. Sagittarius shows his self-determination in his stands on moral grounds; Aquarius will do something "off the wall" and against convention just to be different.

Sagittarius also likes to investigate new territory and "push the envelope," like Aries. But Aries is the pioneer, striking out to establish new boundaries and claim new territory from uncharted country. Sagittarius is more a citizen of the world, eager to experience new cultures and absorb new ideas.

Sagittarius is also an intellectual like Gemini. But Gemini loves to know a little bit about a lot of things, never going too deeply into any one. Sagittarius, on the other hand, specializes in one -- or several related -- complex fields of study where there is a lot of knowledge to master ... a lot to teach and learn on one broad subject.

Note: The symbol for Sagittarius is the centaur, a mythological creature half-man, half-horse. But centaurs are really shy, and it's very very hard to get a good picture of one in the wild. So I'm using pictures of the next best thing to illustrate my articles on Sagittarius. It's a good chance to use your imagination. (Smile.)

Are you a Sagittarius?
A Prediction for the Coming Year

Rethinking your standards and reassessing "things of value" are major themes for you this year. Consciously or not, you will examine "what's important to you" ... and revise your notions about what's worthwhile, what's worth effort ... and what's worth pursuing. This will affect your spending habits and financial choices. This year may mark a small revolution in how you support yourself and how you support the things in life you want to see flourish.

This will be fueled by sudden insights and new perspectives on what money means and how you can use it to achieve your goals. You'll show more generosity as you see that "we're all in this together." You'll also learn that by supporting others, helping "raise all boats," you, too, will prosper. You'll gain new levels of freedom regarding money -- and more options and ways to work with it.

Even if you're not a Sagittarius ---> This theme is at work somewhere in your life -- affecting very specific issues rather than "life in general." With Astrology, it's possible to know what's happening in your life and work with the prevailing energies to make the most of this special time and its opportunities.

Morsels for Your Mind

Give some conscious thought to what you value, to what has meaning for you. Go beyond the easy answers of "family, security, enough money, good health, etc."

Look for the sorts of things you take for granted, but which would lessen your enjoyment of life if they disappeared. How can you encourage and support these better?

Look for the sorts of things you want to see prosper, things you want to have more durability, public awareness and influence in the world. How can you get behind them and lend support -- through words, through writing, through action, through financial aid?

What are three things that could change in the overall experience of the world, in the everyday attitudes of ordinary people and in the ethics we commonly uphold as members of the human race that would make life better, more comfortable, more rewarding and safer for many people, possibly including yourself? How can you help these changes gain momentum?

These are the kinds of questions people with strong Sagittarius energy ponder -- actively and often. These are the sorts of projects they give themselves to. You can step into their shoes and experience life through their eyes, just by taking on some of these challenges -- and you will gain tremendous benefits by doing so.

What does Sagittarius mean to you?

Everyone has Sagittarius energy operating somewhere in his life, influencing his character and attitudes and giving him the experiences that will develop his Sagittarius skills ... regardless of his actual Sun Sign. Astrologers and students of Astrology know this, but it's not common knowledge for most people.

So, do you know where this is happening for you? Do you know how this affects your character? Do you know the advantages it offers in at least one specific set of important life interests?

There's a lot Astrology can teach you about your approach to life, your natural skills and challenges and the way you were designed to operate. For a tidbit of insight about how you were built to use Sagittarius energy, upvote this post and leave your birth data as a comment below. (Day, month, year, place and time if you know it.) Sorry, you really do have to be honest here, otherwise what you get will be useless.

Thank you for stopping by!

If you've always known there was more to Astrology than Sun Sign material and the three line daily horoscope in the newspaper, climb aboard and follow this blog. You'll find a world of wisdom detailing how you were designed to work with life ... and why you are the way you are -- all in quick-to-read, easy-to-digest-and-remember, written-in-plain-English essays that offer plenty of food for thought.

Little by little, I'm doing a set of articles that talks about all the elements in your horoscope and what they have to say about you. If you "know something" about Astrology -- or know something about your chart placements, that will help you get more from this material.

If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.

One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.

Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.

Questions about any of this? -- Upvote this post and talk to me in comments. It's a terrific way to build value for yourself and the community ... and it will give me ideas of what to write about in future posts. Believe me there is lots to say about the way The Sun, The Moon -- and all the other elements in a horoscope, all the other components of Astrology -- work together to interpret you and your story -- and what it all means to the person you've become.

This is who I am.

Thank you for explaining why horses. It makes perfect sense now. In fact even more so living in a desert, where the ratio is probably hundreds of thousands to one.

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

I gave up trying to hunt centaurs with my camera. Trying to sneak up on them when they can see you coming for miles and miles was just too hard. I did get some great photos of Bigfoot though. Unfortunately, Bigfoot doesn't show up much in Astrology. I also got some great shots of wrecked flying saucers, too. Evidently Roswell isn't the only place where they crash. You just have to know where to look.

Thank you for stopping by with a comment. You made my day. Here ... have a vote.
