Hyperloop Trains; The Future of Speed is Here

in Project HOPE5 years ago

Moving goods and humans from one place to another safely and fast has been the importance of have been the importance of transportation and thanks to advancement in technology, we now have more comfortable cars, faster jets, luxury boats and so on. With the emergence of electric cars and artificial intelligence, a lot in cars can now self-drive and run with just charging and this technological improvement is starting to extend to ships.

In this post I am not talking about electric self-driving cars, I am talking about comfort and speed in one of the land transportation which has been in existence for a very long time and that is Rail (Train). A lot of us have taking a ride on a train from one region to another and if we are to be honest old trains can be very slow and uncomfortable.

Brief History and Modernization of Trains

Trains have been existing since the last 200 years of human civilization in the early 1800s, with the advent of the steam train which first rolled over the railway of industrial England. From the steam locomotive train which burned coal to boil water into steam which is used to power the wheel of the train to diesel locomotive which used diesel to power the train and was faster compared to steam train, to freight train used to carry loads through long distances.

Technology advanced to electric train in the 19th century, then Japanese bullet train which travel at a speed of/ about 200 km/h, then high speed trains travelling at 350 km/h introduced in Spain, and the Shanghai metro train which overtook London underground train with a speed of 420km/h, it is serving as the world’s largest urban transit.

Hyperloop, the Future of Train

Two things slow down the movement of vehicles which are air resistance and friction. Hyperloop trains are going to solve this problems as the train will conquer air resistance using vacuum tube system and conquer friction by propelling pods using magnetic levitation.

The basis of the hyperloop train is very high speed transit system which is a combination of low pressure transit tube and magnetic electric levitation train and or air bearings for pod which allows the vehicle float above the track. The train can glide to the align speed for long distance due to ultra-low aerodynamics drag.

You might wonder how fast this train can be, virgin hyperloop will be moving at 600mph while spaceX hyperloop will be moving at 700m/hr. Do not ask, Billionaire entrepreneurs Richard Branson and Elon Musk are at it full time with the Virgin hyperloop one and the SpeceX hyperloop pod respectively. Some other companies such as the US based start-up Hyperloop TT, Netherland Hardt Hyperloop, and Canadian Transpod.

Conclusion

Seeing the future of a fast, sustainable and environmental friendly train means a better life of humans. Each companies have been doing a lot of testing and have been showing their progress via press and social media campaign. Soon, people can travel from one country to another in about three hours. The only limitations which could delay the innovation is digging of tunnels and constructing vacuum tubes.

Hi @eni-ola

An interesting post. This technology can make a big difference and would be good for the environment. Sounds quite costly to deploy.

It is an impressive technology and will be preferred to cars. Also innovations have always been expensive to deploy but the aim is to reduce cost for people.

Technology goes hand in hand with the age of the world, it's no longer surprising with sophisticated transportation.

Soon we might have teleportation in transportation where we do not worry about how far a distance is

Greetings friend @eni-ola.

This innovative proposal looks like a great mobility solution that is sure to be well received by the community of potential users. Apparently humans want to go faster every day and there are no limits to our ambitions.

You didn't talk about the costs of using this transportation. It sure won't be cheap. Then manufacturers will argue between customers who need to go that fast and customers who can afford the price.

I can't stop thinking about the Concorde. This service was canceled because there was no balance between customers who could cancel the high flight prices and maintenance costs.

It is a positive aspect that this medium is kind to the environment.

Your friend, Juan.

Hello dear @juanmolina currently the cost for boarding isn't ascertained currently as it is still a work in progress, but i am sure it won't be expensive as so many companies are working on this.

Hi @eni-ola

Excelnte article.
But I ask myself a single question after asking my question.

We all know that the man is always in search of a good, fast, economic transport, and above all safe for the Man, now I only wonder how this train will stop, according to what I can read is that I was able to go to more than 700m / hr. I imagine that structure that at least must weigh a lot of tons.

How will you stop, without causing insecurity for users.

Thought in the air.

Hello @eni-ola.

Really surprising the advancement and evolution of transport, woo seems fiction, like something out of a movie.

The world is moving at an ever faster speed!

700 kilometers per hour, that's really crazy ha ha
but I imagine that just like on planes, going at high speed you don't feel it.
All advances bring something important to the world, hopefully this is one of those.
The low levels of pollution are already a big plus.

Hi @eni-ola

with the current advances it seems that we were living any of Asimov's novels. This type of train is great, it is clean energy and does not produce pollution, it seems to me that integrating AI with these systems will bring us the new generation of intelligent transport. I really like that you comment something about the history of trains.

He even took the time to visit one of the test site. TL;DR: Hyperloop won't happen.

Interesting. Solid read.

Resteemed already. Upvote on the way :)
