♔♞♙ Chess Puzzle of the Day

Today is a special occasion because the puzzle I present is special. It is a peculiar composition that I came across today and that portrays very well the absolute powerlessness of the white pieces, which despite being all and each one of them on the board (all 16), are unable to defend their monarch from a slow but sure checkmate sentence by Black, who only has one piece on the board!

If you do not want to write down the variation, you may choose to describe the winning plan. I haven't found out yet who the ingenious composer was, but I know that it was first published in 1882. Delight in solving it!

Hoy es una ocasión especial pues el problema que presento es especial. Se trata de una peculiar composición con la que me topé hoy y que retrata muy bien la absoluta impotencia de las piezas blancas, que a pesar de estar todas y cada una de ellas sobre el tablero (las 16), están incapaces de defender a su monarca de una lenta pero segura condena de jaque mate por parte de las negras, quienes solo cuentan con ¡una única pieza en el tablero!

Si no quieres escribir la variante, puedes optar por describir el plan ganador. Aún no averiguo quien fue el ingenioso compositor, pero sé que fue publicado por primera vez en 1882. ¡Deléitate solucionándolo!
