Delighting in God Leads to Success

Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And he will grant you the requests of your heart. Psalm 37: 4

I am a Christian woman with two young children and a husband who is also under God's covering. Every time I come to the altar of God, I do it with my requests present in my heart. However, I have understood that God must first be worshiped and delighted in her presence as Hannah did when she asked the Lord for a male child, who would dedicate his entire life to the Lord.

Every time I read Ana's passage I like it a lot, because since she decided to delight herself in the presence of God, the Lord granted her the request of her heart, which was to have a male child.

Spending time in the presence of God is very enjoyable. We rejoice in Him and pour out our hearts in His presence. On many occasions I cry with joy before the Lord and then I like Ana, I present my request and then I wait for the Lord's response.

The psalmist says that if we delight in Him, we must be sure that He will grant us what we have in our hearts. If we want God to fill us with something we long for, we must learn to spend time with the Lord and rejoice in his presence.

God is a wonderful and special being, who likes us to ask him. God commands us to serve and adore him, but also, he tells us, ask him, because his nature is full of goodness and everything we ask of him is good for our life.

We cannot go to the Lord simply to ask for our carnal delight, but to ask for something that is beneficial to both ourselves and the community or the church.

When Hannah asked the Lord for a son, she asked him with the intention that the child would serve God all her life. This request of Hannah was fulfilled, because the son she had was the prophet Samuel, who served God all her life.

You have to be careful when ordering. If we ask, it must be for something in which God's work benefits.
We cannot receive something if we do not first delight in God.
