Lettuce, an easy vegetable to be sown and with multiple health benefits.
Happy day friends of Steemit.
There are many vegetables and in particular one of my favorites is lettuce, for this reason I want to refer to this article how to plant lettuce in a pot and the benefits it brings to health.
We must teach our children to eat vegetables and the essence of knowing that everything natural is healthy.
Lettuce is a vegetable or vegetable with a mild flavor that contains vitamins, minerals and nutrients, such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin A, vitamin C and B vitamins, so that the properties of lettuce make the body healthy.
It contributes very few calories due to its high water content.
Growing lettuce in pots is an ideal way to have fresh lettuce in the palm of your hand, whether you live in an apartment or in a house.
Cultivation of Lettuce in Pots
Lettuce is a cold season crop and that means you need a cold environment to grow.
Learning how to grow lettuce in pots is excellent because the pots can be moved indoors on cold days and moved outside when the weather is colder.
Have a pot that is at least 6 to 12 inches. Make sure the pot has holes for drainage to prevent excess water and rot the roots
Mixture of soil with fertilizer.
Place the heads of lettuce around 6-12 inches apart with each other. Seeds can be sown once the soil is not frozen, 1/2 inches deep and 4-12 away
Make sure the soil is always moist, but never with much water.
Benefits of lettuce
Effective in cases of constipation. Lettuce has a large amount of dietary fiber, which helps improve digestion and stimulates the movement of the intestines.
Useful in cases of fluid retention, kidney stones and flatulence problems.
Combats anemia because it contains iron.
Fight the cold. It is an excellent home remedy for the flu since it strengthens the respiratory tract.
Helps control high cholesterol. It is a source of antioxidants that help lower high cholesterol, delay cell aging and improve circulation.
Regulates blood sugar levels making it ideal for diabetic patients.
Prevents osteoporosis. Lettuce is rich in vitamin K, an essential nutrient in bone metabolism, helping in the growth of bone mass.
Prevents cancer. It has trace elements such as selenium that prevent the development of certain types of cancer such as lung, prostate and colon cancer.
Decreases menstrual cramps. An infusion of this vegetable can be the ideal remedy for annoying cramps.

Who would have figured the common lettuce could have so many benefits! I like to plant up what is called a 'salad bowl' where you have all your salad ingredients growing together in one pot. Thanks for sharing!,
