Basic Knowledge in Agriculture #23
Talk about the Roles of Fertilizers and Pesticide in Agriculture.
Agriculture relies heavily on fertilizers together with pesticides for its operations.
Fertilizers:
The supply of fundamental plant nutritional substances ensures healthy growth.
Enhance crop yields and quality
Improve soil fertility and structure
Pesticides:
The application of pesticides protects crops against both weeds and diseases and destructive pests.
Prevent damage and reduce losses
Ensure food safety and security
Through their combined use farmers can achieve the following effects:
Increase productivity and efficiency
Manage risks and uncertainties
Farmers need to meet global food requirements through their agricultural activities.
The crucial factor for sustainable environmental practices and ecological stability involves proper management of all inputs.
Are there local fertilizers and how effective are they.
The local market provides effective fertilizers among other agriculture products. Examples include:
Organic decomposed matter leads to compost creation which contains ample nutrients.
Manure: Animal normally waste high in nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.
Also soil receives valuable nutrients from incorporating legume plants referred to as the green manure before plowing.
Worm castings: Nutrient-rich waste from worms, excellent for soil health.
These local fertilizers:
Improve soil structure and fertility
Support beneficial microbes
Reduce reliance on synthetic fertilizers
Are often cost-effective and sustainable.
The effectiveness of local fertilizers depends on both the soil conditions and the chosen crop variety as well as the application process so proper application of local fertilizers produces valuable results for sustainable agriculture operations.
Is there any traditional way of killing pests on crops and how effective is it without causing harm to the plant.
Pepper spray and neem oil combined with garlic extract make up some of the traditional crop pest management methods. Here are a few:
The extract from neem tree plants becomes neem oil which acts as a pest and disease deterrent.
When sprayed on crops garlic generates sulfur compounds which safely repel aphids and whiteflies together with spider mites.
Plants receive two-fold benefits from chili pepper spray because it protects against pests using capsicum and boosts growth.
The application of mild dish soap helps control problems with aphids and mealybugs through a solution.
Child-based natural pest control techniques show successful results when applied according to the following conditions:
People can successfully use these methods if they limit their applications combined with additional pest control approaches.
This method specifically aims at particular pest developmental levels including eggs and larvae.
Combined with good agricultural practices
And they are generally safer for plants and the environment compared to the chemical pesticides, but may require more frequent applications.

Pepper spray is one of the natural ways for controlling pests on crops. I remember my uncle telling me about this. Thanks for sharing.
