Sundays be like...

"Morning dear. No church?" He asks
"Today, no" I reply
He gives me the this-one-belongs-in-hell alook and shakes his head
I'm not surprised
It was expected

I love the Lord unapologetically, I can boldly say
But sometimes I stay home on Sundays
Just listening to sermons or hymns;
Fixing my severed relationship with the Father;
Or reflecting on my life the previous week

We ought not to forsake the gathering of brethren
But that in itself doesn't guarantee eternal life
If all you're doing is playing religion and there's truly no Christ in you
Why fill up your laundry with numerous church clothes?

So if you find me in my room another Sunday
Don't be quick to assume I'm the antichrist
I'm human and I make mistakes all the time
But I believe in God and I strive to love Him better with each passing day
