Slow Medicine
"Humankind has not woven the web of life.
We are but one thread within it.
Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.
All things are bound together.
All things connect."
(Chief Seattle)
And so it is in the webby ecosystem of our life.
Our work touches our shopping touches our soil
touches our meals touch our moods touch
our relationships touch our health touches
our conversations touch our experiences.
All of the links are real,
AND THEY ARE ALL THERE.
The more sensitive and perceptive among us...
"the canaries in the coal-mines"...
we have always felt these links.
We sense The Connections deep in our bones.
And when we are too timid
with our Fire of Knowing,
WE ROAST + SIMMER FROM WITHIN.
And then, we become Phoenix.
We are new. Ready for flight.
And covered in ash. #stayhumble
The strength of our wings
comes from wrestle-blending
reason, with rabid love.
Sweetness, with boundaries.
Wildness, with responsibility.
Remember the medicine
brought to you in poems,
and slow moments.
There is always time
to make peace in you.
Decide it so.
"And when we are too timid
with our Fire of Knowing,
WE ROAST + SIMMER FROM WITHIN.
And then, we become Phoenix.
We are new. Ready for flight.
And covered in ash."
