ODE TO THE NIGHT LOVER

She stumbled on the sun rays
That peeked through the blue clouds
Like a stack of leaves, she stood in front of the wind
Dwindling in the joyous cool breeze

As whistles of raindrops romanced the parched earth
She lay blankly on a frame crafted of woods and foams
Where memories hung like a dirty creeping fan
Swinging mildly across the brink of her mind

Beautiful as the bright crescent of the night
Shoving its way through dark heavy clouds
Yet a stranger in her own flesh
Swallowed in the emptiness of night desires

Nights she held the stars at her fingertips
Sang a tune with the night hooters
Wild thoughts flee in broken ranks
Whirling a storm in her bosom

Like a tempest in a teapot
She jumbles words on the pages of her life
Her eyes romancing the white coated windowpane
Spotting stars dancing on the lines of the cloud

To the inscrutable night lover
Love is just a cascade of words
Littering pieces of her mind on the sticky sand
Wiped off by the birth of the twilight
