Red Bull Crashed Ice

Last Saturday I had a bit of a different kind of weekend as I tagged along with my brother and our cousin to Jyväskylä to see downhill ice-skating. The Red Bull Crashed Ice event was held on a ski slope, and we climbed up to the start of the 640 meter ice track, the longest track of the season. The weather was a crips -15°C, with a bit of wind and it snowed almost throughout the whole day.

I had never seen this sport before so it was a pretty exciting and fun day to be spend outside, enjoying the winter. Though by the end of the day, we were getting pretty chilly for standing around all day and deprived from food and drinks, which we were too lazy to walk down and back up for. We went for burgers after, and to the bars in the evening, a Saturday well spent.

I was of course lugging around my big ass camera too, and took quite a few shots. I'm sharing the ones from the actual competition on this post, and I'll do another set of the spectators. Those who braved the weather had a lot of fun on the slopes and I got some funny shots which I'll share later.
