The Dilapidated City. Shalaurova St
Yes, there are still places that are not documented by a photographic way. Last year I already photographed this street, but the experience was unsuccessful - I lost data from a flash card. I could photograph this street later, but somehow left it for later. And now there is a great opportunity to restore the atmosphere in which the dilapidated housing in this place was shot.
Shalaurova Street in Veliky Ustyug is located in the Fields microdistrict in the second part of the city. Mostly here are private one-story houses. Until 1948, this street was called Field. The length of the street is 1 kilometer 420 meters.
There are very few wooden two-story apartment buildings here.
The roadway is made in a soil-gravel construction. Simply, in the offseason, it turns into a mud with puddles.
Some puddles are the size of the entire width of the road.
In front of the house is a barn.
On the opposite side of the street are ordinary private houses.
A couple more houses stand a little further across from each other.
They are called six-flat boxes. The house has only one entrance.
Here, with the barn was not very lucky: the back of the barn, which belongs to another house, goes into this yard.
Such small barracks have very little space in the yard, but this only gives a cozy atmosphere.
The third hut on the street Shalaurova.
I did not enter the yard, for the obvious reason. I did not check what is written on the tablet. Although it’s very strange, because this is not a private house, but an apartment building. Suddenly I need to go to someone? By the way, the fact that the dog is angry is not written.
Another house is a couple of blocks away from the rest. Between them, Shalaurova Street looks like all other streets in this microdistrict. It can be confused with any other.
It’s very beautiful in some places.
And in some places is dirt...
This hut is the most extreme in the north-eastern part of the city.
There are also barns in the yard.
The entire street from the beginning to the end is in the flooded area and has been repeatedly flooded.
This house is located at the intersection of Shalaurova and Engels streets.
It differs from the rest in a slightly larger size and a slightly different layout.
View from the intersection.
Shalaurova Street is an ordinary street of the Fields microdistrict in Veliky Ustyug, which differs little from many others. If not for the barracks, then there would be nothing unique in this street. But I did not say that this street is bad.
That's so sad about all the puddles and holes in the street. You documented it very well, and I can imagine walking down this street and trying to avoid the puddles!

I think that even if you wouldn't have lost the data last time it would still be new experience to see them. I believe that when you take photos of the same place during different times of the year the result will always be different.
Your photos are as stunning as always. It is impressive how you make ordinary things look special :)
Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day!
Sorry to read that you lost your photos of this street earlier and glad you went back to the street to share with us your beautiful photos of the place eventhough the place look lonely. You captured the loneliness and at some places, the eeriness with the time of the day. I can imagine what the place would have been if not for the puddles of flood waters. The private houses do look beautiful. I wonder why they did not fix the roads. But I suppose it does require a lot of money considering the place is prone to floods. Some of the cars looked abandoned and they seemed to have been soaked in flood waters. That is really sad.
