This little flower is probably the closest I will ever get to California.
I am almost sure this is a Californian poppy. Mum is not sure of the name. Another one of those brought from someone when that someone got it from someone. Good thing with poppies is that they produce lots of seeds and are easy to pick. The just throw the seeds when you want them and that is it. They will grow and reseed on their own every year from now on.
It is the first time I saw one. I got myself a pack of seeds some time ago to enjoy them in a pot, but the never grew.
Somehow I thought they will be a little bit bigger. The flower is about the size of those small orange-red wild ones. Comparing to all those huge ones mum has growing in the same spot, this is a tiny little dwarf. If it wasn't for the white colour, among the red, pink and blue flowers I would have never noticed it.
