Mountain Jastrebac - one of the Serbian treasures

in #photography7 years ago

Travel is my great passion but I don't always have enough time or money to travel far. However, it doesn't make me sad, I think we often underrate and neglect the beauty that is in our neighbourhood.

Every country definitely has something worth visiting. And, I noticed one thing that happens frequently - we know more about foreign countries than our own! I think it is exretemly important to get to know your own town, country, you will be surprised with unexpected discoveries of wonderful places!

One of my favourite places in Serbia is the mountain Jastrebac. It is only half an hour away from my home town - Krusevac. You can go there by car, bus, or bike and some people even go there on foot and enjoy the nature to the fullest. The forest is beautiful! The road to Jastrebac is pretty curvy, only forest and mountain around you, so you have to be careful, but even the travelling to Jastrebac is an adventure and gives you an adrenaline rush!

Everytime I go there I feel relaxed. You can walk around, enjoy at the shore of the artificial lake, drink a coffee at the restaurant, climb and hitchike.
I go there in each season, and honestly, I cannot decide which season over there is the most beautiful.
Take a look at some of the photos I took. :-)

On the road

Well, I could enjoy this view for hours and hours...

No, this "bridge" isn't safe, but I like it. :-)

If you are interested in legends and mystery then this might interest you: there are lot of stories about hidden treasure on Jastrebac. Allegedly, it is hidden under one rock, but no one knows where exactly. The legend says that the Turks left the treasure there while they were running away!
