My secret weapon to defeat @ezzy at Streetfighter V has arrived

in #life7 years ago (edited)

In my continued effort to beat @ezzy at street fighter V, I realized that a controller wouldn't do the trick.

Growing up being part of the PC gaming master race I never got accustomed to controllers in the way @ezzy has.

For him, it's an extension of his body, but for me, it's just a device that hurts my thumbs after a while. Especially with this game where timing and control mean everything.

The problem is that it's pretty tough to play a fighting game like Streetfighter with a mouse and keyboard. I would even say impossible.

I, therefore, had to go back in my mind. To a place where I learned to play Street Fighter II in the first place.

The arcade.

Arcades were so amazing back then. A place to play games with better graphics than at home.

Just looking at a picture of Street Fighter II fills my heart with nostalgia. It's such an Iconic game.

It was the first fighting game where it was possible to select different characters to fight with and when it hit the arcades it was screaming success.

I loved it.

The place where I used to play Street Fighter II still exists but it's no longer filled with games but slot machines.

It's hard to compete with home consoles I guess.

Just look at these graphics nowadays.

I never knew this until I started looking into it (search google: how to get better at streetfighter). But a lot of pro players use a fight stick to play and not a controller.

Just like the good old days!

This is what I needed! I ordered one after some research. It works perfectly on PC.

@ezzy you better prepare!

"Forget Mayweather vs McGregor. Now we got Ezzy vs Exyle! Save those steemdollars and get your tickets right here! Roll up, roll up, for the greatest "Steemit" grudge match of the century!" :)

(p.s. There sure is a lot of "trash talk" against me here, lol).

LOL! Everyone loves you, too man.

I was also born into the PC Master Race. I don't think I've ever owned a console before except for some handheld consoles and a WII but a Wii isn't really that difficult to use and is nothing like a XBOX or PlayStation controller haha.

Yesterday I was playing Tekken as I went over to one of my friend's house and they absolutely wiped the floor with me. I had some lucky moment when my amazing well-calculated BUTTON SMASHING got me a couple of wins. Sometimes I accidentally find out how to do a move and everyone watches in awe while in reality, I have no idea what I am doing.

I remember the good old days of going to the arcade and having endless amount of fun on all the machine and hopefully this will do the trick in beating @ezzy in streetfighter.

I haven't played the new streetfighter but from the sceenshots it does look absolutely spectacular graphically compared to the past. It really does go to show how far we have come just in a couple of decades.

Well let us know @exyle if you ever are able to beat ezzy with the joystick haha! :)

It's a very beautiful game but emotionally it just can't compete with Streetfighter II.

It's a great idea to play with an input device that you are much comfortable with using. For the longest time, I used to play flight simulator and fighter pilot games with a controller. However, I had a lot more success with those types of games after I bought a flight joystick with a throttle. I definitely think this new secret weapon of yours will improve your performance in Street Fighter.

I'm already playing better.

I still remember, many many years ago you (age 6) and your older brother (age 10) made a list with only one present you wanted to have for Sinterklaas (a Dutch feast where children get presents (see @Clio my post about Sinterklaas). There was only one thing you two wanted to have: A NINTENDO, TO PLAY SUPER MARION BROS. those were the days!!!!!
Nothing's changed really!!

I'm pretty sure it was my brother convincing me I needed an NES. I didn't even know what it was. We started playing games on this Remember :)

You are probably right!

@exyle,
Ha ha ha that's funny dude! You are still trying to beat that guy ah? I thought you did last time :D Okay now you have a new weapon :D Yeah let's hope you will win this time!
"@ezzy you better prepare!"

Cheers~

Still trying!

Ooo shiny. I remember rageing over Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat games while I was younger and my friends were beating me on those games. Great memories. Nice toy you got there @exyle.

I used to tilt a lot playing when I was longer too. Now I try to learn from every loss instead.

I agree with you @Exyle, they are better suited to computer games, because of their ease of use and all the functions are in one place. The game often needs fast response and action, which is difficult on home computers :)

very nice sir, i hope now you are fully equipped to beat him, you fully prepared your gadgets now, i wish for your success in the next game.

wow this device really remind me year of 94 while i was at 1st class of a school and wasted my time after school at streetfighter 1-2 in video game machine.(slot machines)
i hope you will kick @ezzy ass soon

It's a great device!

An arcade stick would be amazing to play with and if I ever have enough spare cash for one, I will get it for all fighting games on the PC. Good luck and I hope you get a lot better and beat lots of people!
