PLOTThe story begins in the Glade of Dreams, at which time the pirate fleet under the leadership of Admiral Razorbeard invites in order to occupy every territory that exists. While before the invasion, Robo Pirates has destroyed more than one hundred planets in the galaxy, with the aim of enslaving its inhabitants. But when they invade Glade of Dreams, they are attacked by Rayman, Globox, and other allies. After a few battles, Rayman was caught by an explosion that occurred on the Primordial Core. Rayman's friend Ly the Fairy telepathy to communicate with Rayman. Rayman explained if the explosion had destroyed a thousand Lums Yellow, the capture of the fighters and deprived of its power.

Next Rayman and Globox were taken to the Buccaneer ship, a prison ship to hold. In the prison, Globox gave Rayman Silver Lum that Ly "the fairy" had given him with the intention of getting his strength back even temporarily. Rayman also escaped from the ship by jumping with a parachute, while Globox left behind because they did not have time to run away so they were separated. Then after his strength returned, he planned to meet Ly "the fairy" but he did not find her. Rayman began his quest through the forest and he met with Murphy who served as Rayman's guide and three Globox children. Sadly, Rayman told them about his breakup with the Globox. Instead, the Globox children also told Rayman that Ly had been captured by Pirates and taken into the forest.

Without thinking, Rayman went straight into the forest to look for Ly "the fairy". On his way Rayman freed a group Tensies and a small creature confined in a cage. Once free, they tell Rayman if Ly is in a fort in the Fairy Glade. For that King Teensie created a network of Hall of Doors portals for Rayman to access various areas along the Glade of Dreams. Finally, Rayman found Ly captive in the Fairy Glade. Once released, Rayman tells Ly about his separation with the Globox and the loss of his power. Due to the core destruction of the World, Ly can not restore Rayman's power. However, he told Rayman about four ancient masks, the four masks were hidden in holy places consisting of four elements such as water, earth, fire, and air. Ly told Rayman that his only hope was to find the four masks to defeat their guardians.

Getting word that Rayman has made much progress, Razorbeard sent several warships to search and kill him. While on the other hand, Rayman entered the Sanctuary of Water and Ice to find the first mask of the four masks Ly mentioned. There he managed to defeat Axel, in battle and get his first mask. Polokus was present in his dream and he congratulated Rayman and asked Rayman to find the remaining 3 masks. Next Rayman goes to Menhir Hill to learn to tame and climb a shell leg that looks like a horse. There Rayman also meets and acquaintances with Clark, who is a friendly giant. The sick Clark asks Rayman to take Elixir of Life from the Cave of Bad Dreams "area accessible only when the inhabitants are a sleep". Rayman also asked a doctor to hypnotize him, so he could go to the place. Arriving there, Jano who is a dream world keeper, offers Rayman a choice of eternal riches or a panacea to cure Clark's disease.

Rayman then proceeded to Whale Bay. There he freed a whale named Carmen, who had been arrested by pirates in order to process the fat into oil so they could use it as fuel for their ship. Carmen who feels indebted, tells Rayman that the location of the second mask is located in Sanctuary of Stone and Fire. Rayman was immediately rushed there using the Ember (dead statue) to walk across the lava and get a second mask that he will submit to Polokus. Razorbeard, angry at Rayman's success, ordered his entire fleet to kill Rayman. Unwittingly, a fleet of warships had surrounded Rayman on the mountain cliff and almost killed him. But Rayman again escaped from the Razorbeard pirates.

Then Rayman went on his way to Sanctuary of Rock and Lava to get a third mask using his new power (fly) that Ly "the fairy" gave him. After getting a third mask and giving it to Polokus, Polokus again teleported Rayman to the Iron Mountains that housed a vast network of mines. There Rayman meets Globox's wife, Uglette who is desperate because dozens of her children have been used for mining mining and the capture of Globox by pirates aboard the Buccaneer. Rayman is angry at that, trying to hijack a warship to save all the Globox kids from the mine and he managed to save them.

As the children go Globox will leave, one of them gives Rayman the fourth mask they find in the mine. Rayman, who was delighted with the four masks he had found, rushed to meet Polokus. Upon arrival there, Polokus congratulated him on his success so he could wake Polokus back from his long sleep. When awakened, Polokus told Rayman that he could destroy all the Robo-Pirates in the Glade of Dreams, but the problem is that he has no power in the air. Therefore, Polokus can only help Rayman by re-creating a portal that will take Rayman to Buccaneer in the air so he can defeat Razorbeard Admiral and save his friend Globox.

GAMEPLAY For gameplay, here you will play the game from a third-person perspective with control over the camera in which there are some limited situations at a certain angle. At some point the game, you will lose control when the scene that usually shows the dialogue between characters. You can start the game with the minimal ability that Rayman has like his fists or with the energy balls that can be shot. In addition you can also take the appropriate position so you can easily direct the ball while avoiding enemy attacks. Rayman also has the ability to swing large gaps using Purple Lums and his hair helicopter to slow down as he jumps.

With a few segments in this game, allowing him to fly with his hair. And not only that, there are various items you can use during a game like, the explosive barrel he can throw, the giant plum he can ride to cross the dangerous surfaces and rockets that he can also ride to access new areas. In addition to the main sequence based story level, there are also several levels where you can get bonuses in time trial. By collecting all the lums and breaking all the cages at a certain level, you will get a bonus in which one of the Globox children will fight the pirate robot. And when you control the child to win the fight, then you as (Rayman) will get health or strength.

Finally for graphical display, I think the game Rayman 2: The Great Escape has an amazing view to see from start to finish. Each level has a very smooth animation so the environment looks so colorful. Although sometimes there are some camera system interference, such as we will be in a place far and wrong. But don't worry, because this is rare, so in my opinion this is not too disturbing during the game.
