Healing in Nature can have a Positive Impact on Health

Healing can be defined as a holiday or doing fun things and can be done by yourself or assisted by other professionals. Healing can provide many benefits, including getting to know yourself, reducing symptoms of depression, and making someone more confident. With healing, people will be wiser in making decisions, can increase productivity, and make life more meaningful. Every human being's life is a long journey and full of trials. Humans don't always feel happiness and vice versa, they don't always feel sad. Nowadays, many people associate the sadness they experience with "healing" activities. So healing has suddenly become popular recently.
Healing is also known in Islamic teachings, where in the Islamic view it is defined as continuing to remember Allah SWT at every opportunity. "Those who believe and their hearts become peaceful by remembering Allah SWT. Remember, only by remembering Allah SWT can the heart become peaceful". Healing in the open air is one way to make people feel calm and comfortable. These feelings have been proven to affect health. Taking a trip to nature can have positive benefits for us. Everyone likes mountains or the sea, there are also those who like views such as forests, rivers and other green areas.
Even though the places are different, the feeling of being in nature makes a person feel calm. This is related to our senses that see and feel the natural atmosphere. The combination of the senses of sight and smell through activities in nature can have a positive impact on health, especially on the digestive tract. The green color of plants in nature, especially leaves, can affect the human body through three main pathways. The autonomic nervous system causes heart rate and blood pressure to decrease, making the body more relaxed. The endocrine system influences hormones in the body, especially amylase levels in saliva which plays a role in reducing stress hormones. The psychological effects of green can increase calm and reduce anxiety.
Apart from the sense of sight, nature also has a relationship with the sense of smell. The aroma of plants contains molecules in the form of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) which enter the lungs. These compounds will affect biochemical pathways in the body, and provide the same effect as drugs used to reduce anxiety. When people inhale VOCs from trees, they not only reduce the hormone adrenaline, but also increase natural killer cells in the blood, and these killer cells can attack cancer cells or viruses. The aroma of plants can increase the number of natural killer cells in the body in the long term.
