Menpora Ask Paragliders Donate More Gold for Indonesia at the Asian Games

The Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi charged one gold medal from a paragliding parade at the 2018 Asian Games. However, Imam hopes that Paralayang can give a surprise of donating more medals.

Imam review Pelatnas Paragliding at Mount Mas, Puncak, Bogor, West Java, Thursday (26/07/2018). The arrival of minister from Bangkalan, East Java, is to ensure the process of training and preparation of athletes ahead of the Asian Games to be held on August 18 to September 2 next in Jakarta - Palembang.

At the Asian Games 2018, parayalang the first time contested in the multievent event. Imam hopes paragliding can perform the maximum gold medal.

"When asked about the target, at least one gold medal will be offered, but our athletes also usually surprise, and this surprise is what we encourage with prayers and support for athletes with a determination to give the best surprise for Indonesia," said Imam Nahrawi.

Meanwhile, paragliding coach, Gendon Subandono, expressed his team's preparation ahead of the Asian Games. He said his team is optimal and live to finalize the athletes to be deployed.

"Now we focus more on stabilizing for mental. If the technique actually has long been established, we must finalize in the last two weeks and hopefully we can be optimal on this result, "he said.

"Our toughest opponents are the South Korea and China's cross-country event numbers, while for the accuracy events there are China, Japan and Korea," Gendon added. (Fitri Apriyani)
