Ways God can take care of His servant in the midst of dryness and severe famine
This post is a continuation of my last post, GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU and today, I am going to discuss some ways in which God can take care of us, His servants even in the midst of the on going Covid-19 pandemic.
I will still be using the same text from my last post - 1 Kings 17:1-9
1 Kings 17:1-9 KJV
[1] And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
[2] And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,
[3] Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
[4] And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
[5] So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord : for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
[6] And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.
[7] And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
[8] And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,
[9] Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee
From the above text, we saw the way God took care of Elijah in the midst of dryness and severe famine and God can take care of us too in the same way. We should all note that this pandemic is also a time of dryness and famine as the world economy is already crashing.
God hid (lockdown) his servants from the effects of the famine (vs. 3)
Immediately that Elijah declared God’s judgement upon the land, he was told by God to go and hide in the Kerith Ravine. By this God shut his servant completely off from the effects and consequences of the famine on the land. The Bible contains several promises that God will hide his people from evil (Psalm 27:5, 31:20, 91:4).
Psalm 27:5 KJV
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
Psalm 31:20 KJV
Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
Psalm 91:4 KJV
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
As a child of God, you do not need for fear for the Lord shall hide you in his secret place until the plague of Corona Virus and every plague is over.
The Lord Miraculously provided for his servant in the season of lockdown (vs. 4-6)
The Lord in an unusual manner provided for the need of Elijah. He was feed by birds (ravens). The miracles there was that where was the bird getting the food from? Who was preparing the food? How comes that the bird never missed the location of Elijah. These were part of the miraculous provision Elijah experienced. I declare that even in this period of lockdown you shall be miraculous provided for in Jesus name
The Lord consistently provided for his servant (vs. 6)
The provision that Elijah experienced was a continuous and consistent one. The birds brought food for Elijah every day and at a specified time - morning and evening. There was no record that Elijah missed any of the scheduled time for his meals. Though Elijah did not have anything reserved, the supplies kept coming. I encourage you to build up your faith in the Lord in this season we find ourselves, you may not have any reserve to fall on; but I declare that God's supply shall never fail in your life in Jesus' name .
