Amazing Moments At Steemit Meetup Ibadan Yesterday

imageAs I write this, I am mindful of what dreams are truly made of in Africa: sweat and blood. Lots of it!

Can you imagine that I have been trying for over 4 hours (since 2am!) to upload videos of the Steemit Ibadan Meetup program on DTube?!

Thank GOD for the @esteem app that always comes to the rescue!

I'm pretty sure nothing is wrong with @dtube but everything wrong with data in Nigeria.

Poor data services isn't the only problem in Nigeria, we have power issues and to be candid, we have challenges across every sector.

Well, I'm not complaining because I see challenges as opportunities but it cab be sometimes painful when you're not able to get stuff done simply because you live in Nigeria.

I hope Steemians from other countries are not facing this kind of challenges. It can be frustrating but no matter the problems, still we rise!

Anyway, yesterday was so much fun with meat pie, pizza and pet drinks as series of eloquent speakers including @tojukaka @samstickkz @gbenga @nairadaddy @ewuoso took turn to load the audience with all manner of Steemit wisdom from Password Management and Steemit Abuse to Steem Blockchain Basics and Steemit Etiquette...and so much more!

@tojukaka (they call him the Steemit Teacher and I told him he was born for this lol -he has great organization skills)

@ejemai who I was glad to finally meet, my wife @temitopebanks always had good stuff about him, spoke about #stach -Steemit Accelerator Hub and the vision for it.

@ejemai and @fifebanks

@air-clinic guys were also well represented.

Other speakers were @ehiboss who spoke about Password security, @thelovejunkie -the pretty preggie who spoke about Steemit etiquette, @destinysaid who gave insights about other Steem-based Apps like @dtube @dlive @dtunes @dmania but to my surprise, it seems little attention was paid to @zappl which is one of the most optimized Steem-based DApps in my opinion

@mediahousent and @sushie were such excellent emcees for the historic Meetup.

In my opinion, I think it's arguably the largest meetup of its kind yet...below are some sights (and sounds) from the Ibadan Steemit Meetup where I met amazing Steemians including @japfive @gee1 @gloglo @mimy @adoo @deronke @yowanetwork and so many I can't remember.

Those guys were truly hungry for Steemit and Steem knowledge!!

I also met @arewaadesanya who is an amazing the and dye entrepreneur. She just signed up for Steemit yesterday and I was glad to put her through a few things.

The closing remarks was given by @fisteganos

I am more convinced by the day that @steemit have what it takes to change lives in Africa and indeed all over the world but for now, whatever success you see an African, especially a Nigerian, make on Steemit, just know that it is not only a 'proof-of-brain' but a 'proof-of-sweat-and-blood'

Looking forward to meeting more newbie Steemians at our Steemit Incubator Hangout in Felele, Ibadan by 4pm today.
