Journal Entry, 20121021: What Was It?steemCreated with Sketch.

Below you will find a journal entry I wrote way back in 2012. It is the only thing I've seen in the sky that I cannot easily explain away. I have no idea what exactly it was, but you can see videos online of similar recorded objects all over. What do you think it was? Is there a simple explanation?

I have not decided one way or another, but one reason I became a private investigator is to get high quality cameras to do further space observation.

The image was inspired by @m31, Messier 31 (Andromeda), who I was discussing the event with in steemit.chat.

I walk to work these days, and this morning had a special event in the sky. The debris from Haley's Comet is coming by, and the show was supposed to originate from above the Orion constellation. Well, I was walking from about 0630 hours, and I watched that area of the sky as I did. At a couple spots with very little light around, I stopped completely to check Google Sky and to learn some of the names of the stars. Well, I was hoping to see a "shooting star" but saw something else instead.

While looking at above Orion where Google had the show marked to see, I saw a faint star like (in brightness but solid like a planet would be, and the light was not flickering at all) moving object. At first I thought it was a meteor and part of the debris as planned. It was traveling in a straight line, and I first saw it around where the debris was supposed to show. However, I kept watching it and began to notice that it's speed was changing, and I mean really changing a lot! It was stuttering through the sky basically, and it would go a while at a steady speed, then slow to roughly 25% speed, then speed up again to full speed, etc. I watched it go through the sky until it almost reached Venus, which as you know is a huge distance in our atmosphere. Here's where it gets weird though.

I fully expected it to fall out of the sky and streak like a meteor, but it never did. Instead, it made a loop! I was looking up NE with Venus to my near right, and I mean I was looking STRAIGHT up into the sky, and the damned thing swung around and did a tiny, from my perspective, loop counter clock wise. It was as if it was turning around to go back the other way. At that distance it would have been impossible to be any human made craft, and there's no way in hell a piece of debris from Haley's Comet could do that either. It's hard to give estimates of the speed or distance traveled, but it took about 2 minutes for it to go from where I first saw it above Orion.

I would have blown it off as a plane or some other man made thing until I saw the loop at the end. The loop was small by the way. It's hard to explain, but the diameter of the counter clock wise turn it made was about the distance between one of the stars on Orion's belt. Once it made that turn, going about 180 degrees to turn around, it simply disappeared. I don't know what it was, but I do know it was not debris and not a human craft.

@finnian Thank you for a mention. Not a lot of people actually know what m31 stands for. I have heard versions - male 31 and oh like a band m83? Hehe.

How about ball lightning?

I've seen ball lightning before too. That stuff is pretty darn crazy! This was way too far away and moving like a sphere through clear skies. I doubt it was lightning.

I don't know what you saw but I do believe that in this vast universe there must be more to life than us mere young humans!! I have seen so many pics, vids etc. pointing towards extra terrestrial life (obviously with loads of hoaxes and rubbishing by media). There is even the occasional physical evidence that has been found i.e. one was where a ufo landed and soil samples checked which showed some interesting findings (I can't recall exactly, this was a few years ago). Anyway, recently here by us some guys from the NSRI (National Sea Rescue Inst.) reported a UFO and the media (radio) reported it in a joking manner. What a shame... Anyway, my belief will definitely be leaning more towards the fact that in this old universe there must be far more advanced lifeforms with technology that we can't even dream of yet. Until proven without a doubt (or until governments lets up) we can only guess, unless you're that individual who has seen something that without a doubt, is real.

Agreed. A lot of the craft people see are man made these days, but there are still some high up fast movers that I believe are not man made.

Imagine if we funded webcams in space, open for the public to use.. that would be interesting ;)

Privately run cameras are already catching a ton of mysterious activity. The problem with the images is that they could all be edited for all we know. Because of what I've seen with my own eyes though, I know at least some of the images are not faked. ;-)

There is plenty that I've seen and can't explain, but I blame that on not growing up with a smartphone in-hand..😆 I can't help you explain what you saw, but I do want to run a 'theory' by you.

What I have always thought is how would we know if alien life had made contact with Earth?

I often bring up, in these conversations, that aliens could be here in many forms - not just the hollywood variations, but microscopic particles. What if the space debris that makes it through the Earth's atmosphere contains life that we cannot see?

How would we know if alien life had come to Earth if they could be in forms that we are not necessarily looking for? What if these 'particles' of life fell into the ocean and began to interact with sea life. And what if it took hundreds of years for these things to evolve into other forms?

Just somethng I like to think about. It is fun to think about something so mysterious as the universe.

Now I want to see what else you've got in the journal, haha! Love it!

One theory is that we are genetic hybrids or modified from great apes perhaps. There are so many possibilities. Did you see the killercamper video about this possibly just being a simulation? That'll blow your mind.

Your theory reminds me of another weird mind boggler. Apparently, gold isn't native to the planet, and it was deposited here after the initial stages of the planet's formation.

It is heavier than iron and would have sunk to the bottom, right? Where did it come from then?

I'll have to check out the video when my bandwidth resets 😞
That sounds like a mind blower..haha I have always enjoyed torturing my mind with the unknown. It's funny how we wish to explain everything, but we can't.

I've wondered how Gold exists on Earth and also how much precious metals might be floating around in space? That is wild to think about. Are precious metals something we are inherently drawn to because it is a familiar piece of home, far out in the universe somewhere?

I have seen quite a bit of discussion around mining space for metals. So, we know it's out there in abundance. I would be totally fine with some of it crash landing in my yard 😆
