Indian Supreme Court Adjourns Cryptocurrency Vs RBI Matter
Indian Supreme Court was scheduled to announced a verdict on the cryptocurrency vs RBI matter today-29th March, 2019 as it was the final date for the government of the Union of India to present a draft on cryptocurrency regulations to the apex court.
However, the government's counsel requested that the matter be adjourned and the final date has been fixed on a regular day for the court somewhere around the 2nd week of July, 2019.
The saga of "Tareek pe Tareek" continues with justice for cryptocurrency exchanges and users being delayed. Matter adjournment to 2nd week July will ensure this case has been in the court for a year and the court so far has adjourned several times.
It's disappointing for everyone who was expecting the courts to deliver justice to all seeking reforms in the fitech space in India.
There's nothing we can do but wait and watch. Hopefully in the next few months leading upto July we shall see something positive coming out of all this.
Let's just brace ourselves because the upcoming elections too may impact all of this.
