Mountain Monday Goes to the Compound Fallbrook California
These mountain photos are from when I lived on a "compound" outside of Fallbrook California for a few months in 2014. The rich people I was staying with needed fences against wild animals like coyotes and people who might do crimes and often did.
We were surrounded by mountains and there was not a level spot of land anywhere.
I was taking care of a lady who was recovering from hip replacement surgery and took my breaks walking out on the property.

Everyone near us also had big spreads and often orchards.

The section had beautiful old trees when I got there, but soon would have something else.

It took about a month to chop down this grove. I think they were avocados.

The view through many fences. You can just see a windmill.

My post today is for the weekly Mountain Monday challenge by @keithboone. I am just in under the wire! I hope to be earlier next week :)

It is Super Bowl Sunday today. Statistics say that only 5% of people with health resolutions for the New Year will still be on track. Is your fitness equipment still out handy, and are you still on a "diet?"
I lost "Half My Size" eight years ago by using natural methods. I started on December 5th and did not give up. You can do it too!

It's interesting living right on the slopes of a mountain. Why was the grove cut down, was it to plant grapes? Thanks so much for posting in Mountain Monday! Voted and resteemed - have a great week! :-)
Thank you! You too. I am not sure - the people I lived with said the trees might have been past the time to bear good fruit. That place was many fences away and we did not know the people there. The ridge was good for coyotes though. They would wake me up howling :)

STOPLovely scenery. Thats the thing about California. Everything grows in abundance and they think nothing about wiping out an orchard to replant with something else. Houses often totally re-do their entire yard with new trees, plants, and sod before selling. I grew up in the arid high plains of Kansas and Oklahoma where people worked for years to grow a few trees around their farmstead. Cutting down mature trees was unheard of, almost criminal. So different in California
You are so right! My hosts were so upset by this. They came from Nevada and would never dream of cutting down such lovely trees. I just got this old hard drive fired up. I hope I have some photos of it before this happened. It was a month of noise and devastation.
Thank you so much for being part of the #socalsteemit community.
Thank you very much! I'm so happy to be featured for this trip down memory lane :)
Howdy there fitinfun! wow lots of fences, why was crime so high there? What's wrong with people here while over there they hardly need fences?
This was a lot of new rich people in old farmland. We had mailbox thefts and people breaking into houses there. In another post I was talking about a poor place in San Diego city (the one with the rooster.) That was supposed to be a bad place but it was really peaceful there. Nothing to steal from poor people :)
haha! yes Ma'm no attraction for thieves in poor neighborhoods, so true!
