Welcome to Restoran Mang Chuang Hawker Food Stall Center in Desa Setapak, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. This place has many separately owned stalls with a variety of food on offer.

I am here for a takeaway breakfast from the BBQ Chicken Rice place you see in the middle of this shot. Despite the name I am getting Chinese Roast Pork Belly known as Siew Yoke.

Before moving to Malaysia, I only heard of "pork belly futures" as in the stock market. However, it turns out this is what bacon is made of too.

Everyone should switch over to eating Siew Yoke. This is on the top on my most-loved-food list now.

I have learned that I like the food anywhere I see meat hanging in the window.

The sign is no help to me, but it all looks good.

Ahh!!! Pork belly is hanging and I want it all. Beyond is sausage and chicken, but I have not been able to get past the pork belly in several trips now.

You see the front of the setup here and the view back out to the street.

The meat on the tray has bbq sauce on it. I am sure it is delicious, but I am trying to stay clean and not sticky :)

This is the guy! He will be chopping and moving fast from when he gets here until when he leaves.

There is a lot more food for sale and tables to eat at behind the stall, but I am getting my breakfast as takeaway.

I have no idea what all these options are, but I will get pork belly slices, rice, cucumber, and sauce for 5.50 RM - $1.37 usd.

The action does not stop for my photos.

Someone who is eating at the tables will get this plate. It is only the pork belly, and likely their second order to be warm as they already are eating.

A vinegar type sauce spritzed over top really adds taste.

You can see the hand of the second man getting ready to run this to wherever the people are eating. No time to lose! Three people are already waiting behind me for their takeaway order too.

My yummy order is hot and ready to pack for me to go. The vinegar sauce is on the meat, and I will get a little bag of (not too) spicy sauce I enjoy.

The rice is not plain, but flavored in some way to make it fantastic. I always love cucumber slices with any meal.

And here is when I get to a spot to eat this delicious breakfast.

The skin is crispy, the meat is tender and a touch salty. The fat adds such flavor and moistness too.

I would not have thought of bacon until I read this on the internet. The meat is much more tender than bacon and does not have a smoky flavor.

How did I never know about pork belly as gourmet food before?

This stall is open from when he gets here in the morning until when he sells out later in the day. How's that for a schedule?

I have been here at sometimes at 7 am and he is open. I have been here other times at 9 am and he is not here. So you need to come early when this is your lucky day!
