Pulsatilla vulgaris - My tries in flower photography last year

in #photography6 years ago (edited)

Last year Karin and Gerhard invited us for a photography trip in Vienna to take some pictures of the Pulsatilla vulgaris that is growing in late Spring (May) on hills around vienna and near mountains. I was stupid not to take a macro lens with me because Karin and Gerhard are one of the best Macro Photographers in our Wildlife photography club, and they showed me some tricks to get better macro shots.

I am always astonished when Karin posts a new picture to facebook about the beauty of her pictures, she is able to create such lovely colors and even the background is always marvellous on her pictures. Of course she invested more money in Macro lenses and equipment than me but still she knows the tricks to create most out of a macro shot like. Producing artificial shadow above the plant and overexpose a picture just the right way so the colors get pretty nice.
