🌟What are the biggest stars known to us?🌟
Welcome to another edition of “ask flurgx”!
Some of us know that the Sun which warms our planet is a star.
Some know it´s around 110 times bigger in diameter than the Earth.
Some may even know that astronomers classify it as a yellow dwarf star.

Calling the sun a dwarf must include that we know stars which are bigger in size than our sun, and indeed we know white „normal“-sized stars, blue and red giants, blue and red super giants - as well as hyper giants, which are usually red.
Most of the giant stars are visible on the night sky with the naked eye, like Beteigeuze, Antares, Aldebaran, etc etc
@jonathanxvi started a blog about the brightest stars on the night sky.
Indeed stars that appear bright in the sky are usually also big in size. However the distance also plays a role in the “scheinbare” helligkeit.
The nearest star is not the brightest and the brightest star is not the nearest nor the biggest.
The biggest star known to us - UY Scuti - can not be seen with the naked eye. Even though it is part of our galaxy. It´s too close to the center of our galaxy, and there are too many clouds and dust between us and the star. One picture of UY Scuti was made by Rutherfurd Observatory in Columbia University. 
So the list of the biggest stars in the universe is limited to our home galaxy and our neighboring galaxies, the magelanic clouds. It´s impossible for us to determine the size of stars in other galaxies than those mentioned.

UY Scuti ist so irre groß, dass es einem unmöglich erscheint sich das wirklich vorzustellen. Wird bestimmt eine fette Supernova wenn der mal in die Luft fliegt. Anscheinend ja ein sterbender stern?!

thank you @flurgx. I've learn that thru your post. My son is sad when i told him that Pluto is not a planet anymore but a star and that Pluto has little brothers/sisters as well. But what makes Pluto a star?
