Since long before the quarantine that we are living today in my country Venezuela, we have had to live with one of the worst evils that this regime has left us, and this is the badly named "Creole vividness", something that many use to as they say to help themselves economically, but when they apply it they do not look at who they affect or who they take away. Today my parents had to leave at dawn to stand in line for miles to try to fill up my father's vehicle with gasoline. Something that unfortunately could not be, since at approximately 4:30 pm they arrived home again, with a physical and mental exhaustion that could be seen on their faces, the feeling of disappointment really infected me, the truth is that they have been doing this for weeks without being able to succeed in the mission.
We have had to resort to buying gasoline from resellers, people who make use of that Creole vividness that I named them before, who do shady business with government entities or owners of gas stations to buy the gasoline at the regulated price, which being honest is a derisory price for what it should really be worth, and they resell it even at 2$ per liter, something that is not seen in any country. To be honest I would rather work to make the money and buy that gasoline at the international price than keep seeing the faces of disappointment, anger, and sadness that I saw in my parents today, although this simply should not exist.
Now, this issue of gasoline is just one of the examples I can cite, this applies to food from the basic food basket, medicines, personal hygiene items, and everything that has a price regulated by the state, something with which I completely disagree, because no economy works properly if the law of supply and demand is not applied, free price competition should reign, but in a legal manner. One of the misused phrases used by these unarmed thugs is, "In times of crisis, some cry and others sell handkerchiefs!" A phrase that I have always liked and I have really commented on many occasions, only that we must know which handkerchiefs to sell and to whom, but above all not to make firewood from the fallen tree.
At the end of 2016, to be specific in the month of November, unfortunately, I had to be admitted to a hospital, since the cesarean section through which my son was born was infected thanks to a bacteria acquired in the operating room, this was one of the worst years in our country, getting the drugs, antibiotics and painkillers was a total odyssey, my parents literally went bankrupt covering the treatment of more than two months, because in order to access a day's dose of a single antibiotic, they had to pay on the black market what the treatment cost for a month and this was because these handkerchief vendors hoarded the medicines and resold at these exorbitant prices, and the option was either to pay what they asked for or simply to die because in the hospitals there were no medicines or rather no medicines to treat the sick.
What I want to get at with all this talk today is the following, as long as there are people who take advantage of the needs of their compatriots or fellow countrymen, there will be no changes of government that will move us forward as a society, As long as there are people with such a poor mentality, which also seems to be a virus that spreads faster than the same COVID-19 that today kills so many lives, we will not grow as a country, and I say as a country because I do not know if this kind of sad situation occurs in another part of the world, I just hope not, because it is a pretty miserable situation.

If, on the contrary, these people would change that mentality and help at least one person, with something minimal, I believe that the change would be on a stratospheric level. I've seen the faces of people who have nothing to eat and receive a piece of bread, the brightness of their eyes is one of the most beautiful things that can exist, the look of gratitude filled both the recipient and the giver, and that is a feeling that I am sure that the person who feels it a first time, will become addicted.

Desde mucho antes de la cuarentena que hoy vivimos en mi país Venezuela, hemos tenido que vivir con uno de los peores males que nos ha dejado este régimen, y este es la mal llamada "Vivesa Criolla", algo que muchos utilizan para como dicen ellos ayudarse económicamente, pero que cuando lo aplican no se fijan a quien afectan o a quien se llevan por delante. Hoy mis padres tuvieron que salir de madrugada para hacer una cola kilométrica e intentar surtir de gasolina el vehículo de mi padre. Algo que lamentablemente no pudo ser, ya que aproximadamente a las 4:30 pm llegaron de nuevo a casa, con un agotamiento físico y mental que se dejaba ver en sus rostros, el sentimiento de decepción realmente me contagio, la verdad es que tienen semanas haciendo esto mismo sin poder obtener éxito en la misión.
Hemos tenido que recurrir a comprar gasolina a revendedores, personas que hacen uso de esa viveza criolla que les nombre antes, que se dedican a hacer negocios turbios con entes gubernamentales o dueños de estaciones de servicio para comprar la gasolina al precio regulado, que siendo sinceros es un precio irrisorio para lo que realmente debería valer, y lo revenden incluso a 2$ por litro, algo que no se ve en ningún país. Siendo sincera prefiero trabajar para hacer el dinero y comprar esa gasolina a precio internacional que seguir viendo las caras de decepción, rabia y tristeza que vi hoy en mis padres, aunque esto simplemente no debería existir.
Ahora bien, este tema de la gasolina es solo uno de los ejemplos que puedo citar, esto lo aplican con alimentos de la cesta básica alimentaria, medicinas, artículos de aseo persona, y todo aquello que tenga un precio regulado por el estado, algo con lo que estoy plenamente en desacuerdo, pues ninguna economía funciona de manera correcta si no se aplica la ley de oferta y demanda, la libre competencia de precios debería reinar, pero de manera legal. Una de las frases mal empleadas que utilizan estos hampones sin armamento es, "¡En tiempos de crisis, unos lloran y otros venden pañuelos!" Frase que siempre me ha gustado y realmente he comentado en muchas ocasiones, solo que debemos saber que pañuelos vender y a quien, pero sobre todo no hacer leña del árbol caído.
A finales del año 2016, para ser específicos en el mes de noviembre, lamentablemente tuve que ser internada en un hospital, ya que la cesárea por medio de la cual nació mi hijo se infectó gracias a una bacteria adquirida en el quirófano, este fue uno de los peores años de nuestro país, conseguir los medicamentos, antibióticos y analgésicos era una total odisea, mis padres literalmente quedaron en bancarrota cubriendo el tratamiento de más de dos meses, ya que para acceder a la dosis de un día de un solo antibiótico, debían pagar en el mercado negro lo que costaba el tratamiento para un mes, y esto gracias a que estos vendedores de pañuelos acaparaban los medicamentos y revendían en estos precios exorbitantes, y la opción era o pagabas lo que pedían o simplemente te morías pues en los hospitales no había o mejor dicho no hay medicinas para atender a los enfermos.
A donde quiero llegar con todo este palabrerío de hoy es a lo siguiente, mientras que existan personas que se aprovechen de las necesidades de sus compatriotas o coterráneos, no habrán cambios de gobiernos que hagan que como sociedad se avance, mientras existan personas con esa mentalidad tan pobre que además pareciera un virus que se esparce más rápido que el mismo covid-19 que hoy acaba con tantas vidas, no creceremos como país, y digo como país pues no se si este tipo de situaciones tan tristes ocurren en otro lado del mundo, solo espero que no, pues es una situación bastante miserable.

Siempre llamo al lado humano de cada quien, a ser mejores personas, ayudar al prójimo siempre será más satisfactorio que cualquier otra cosa, en estos momentos tan difíciles donde lo que debe prevalecer es la ayuda entre todos para poder salir adelante triunfante, solo espero que el lado realmente consciente del ser humano salga a flote y no terminemos de acabar con la humanidad entre nosotros mismos. Si por el contrario estas personas cambiaran esa mentalidad y ayudaran al menos a una persona, con algo mínimo, creo que el cambio seria de niveles estratosféricos. He visto los rostros de personas que al no tener nada que comer reciben un pedazo de pan, el brillo de sus ojos es una de las cosas más hermosas que puede existir, la mirada de agradecimiento llena tanto al que recibe como al que da, y esa es una sensación que estoy segura de que la persona que lo sienta una primera vez, se hará adicto.
