Bitcoin private fork announcement date revealed during conference!
For those of you who don't know what BTCP is, it's a fork of BTC by the devs of ZCL.
The fork will be 1:1 of any ZCL or BTC holders, on this date.
This announcement took place on the live stream that is still commencing, from the first BTCP conference.
What they're doing differently, is adding ZSNARKS 0 knowledge protocol to BTC.
The branding for this coin is huge, seeing as the market sentiment in crypto has been in privacy coins. With the ZSnarks protocol, making faster transactions combined with the chain everyone is used to, and a solid dev team. I'm watching to see where this goes, especially since BTC has been bleeding badly lately.

Privacy coins are nice and will definitely be highly sought after, but man they need to stop giving more coins to existing btc hodlers lol, it's not like the big wallets need them.
Its a way of adoption
With the built-in audience? Makes sense on that level, but doesn't make sense on soooo many other levels.
Makes sense for inheriting the chain and in essence still being Bitcoin, as Bitcoin Cash is trying to do. But to create simple altcoins, it might also make sense just as a way of increasing adoption if it actually is useful. If it's not, then obviously not.
Also, if the coin is different enough from whatever community you are airdropping to it might be a problem that there is no significant social overlap and interest. Then the point of airdropping it goes away completely.
Still don't understand why isn't it just easier to switch to Monero?
It's ridiculous anyone takes BTC forks or even the consideration seriously in 2018.
Monero is NOT ZSNARKS...
Monero is very flawed.

I've been following several sources about Monero and NONE told anything about huge scale issues.
It's the most competent "anoncoin" in the current market.
