The Diary Game Season 3 [ Friday September 23st, 2022 ] : Working From Comma Prompt

Greetings from Bamenda Cameroon, it is another week coming to an end. Today is Friday, and it is that day to look at the past days of the week and see how far you have gone with your objectives of the week. If by Friday you have not passed over 50% of your weekly objectives, you need to sit up.

I got up at 4:00 am. The first thing I completed was a task I promised a client that will be done before today. It was 5: 45, I had my bathing water on the gas while I was doing my usual morning workout. It is a 30 minutes indoor body workout that I make sure to complete every weekday morning. It was 6: 15 am when I woke up my daughter to start preparing for school. My wife was having breakfast, while I helped my daughter in preparing for school and myself for work.

While I was still competing with myself, breakfast was done and I asked my daughter to go ahead while I catch up later. It was fried potato chips and fried omelets. By the time I was done, my daughter had eaten all the omelets, so I just had to eat potato chips without omelets. After breakfast, my daughter and I left the house for her school. We took a bike, it is preferable taking a bike during rush hours in the morning.

We got to my daughter's school, and I walked her to her class before rushing to my place of work. Given my task for today, today will be one of my challenging days. Today I will be working on building and configuring a new server for my clients. Usually, the server administrator will do it and I will manage it. But I decided to take it on today to do it myself and also learn how to use the Linux system.

Like every other day, I wrote down the things I have to do for today and had an early morning selfie. To make sure I don’t get dizzy throughout the day, I had a cup of coffee. I started working on the installation and configuration of the server. The droplet had been brought already from the Digital Ocean platform. So, I will be working from my window’s operating system using a comma prompt. To login, I will use the comma \<ssh IP(server) user\> and \<password\>

It is my first time working from the comma prompt. So, I succeeded in installing apache2, MySQL, php8.0, and Froxlor. It was 2:15 pm, time to pick up my daughter from school. So, I left what I was doing and rushed to my daughter's school. I was there at exactly 2:30 pm, so I walked to her class, and we both left for home.

I got home and had my lunch, and rushed back to the office.

I needed to continue with the configuration of the Froxlor installed earlier in the day. I got back to the office, and I’m unable to complete the configuration of Froxlor because of the poor internet network. It was challenging starting and failing along the line because of the internet. I got so disturbed that I had to move to some offline tasks to make sure I’m not wasting time on the server.

It was 7:00 pm, and I closed for the day. I stop working at 6:00 pm and play video games with my colleague for an hour before going home. I got home and spent some time with my family before finally going to bed.

It was all a great day for me, and I learned a lot today. Working via the comma prompt was a cool experience for me. I always avoided the comma prompt, if you see my using the comma prompt is when I’m working on it where I have to either push or fetch a repository. But today, I had a cool experience with the comma prompt that I’m thinking of reinstalling Ubuntu OS on my PC.
