Electric skateboards - cruising through Zagreb, Croatia
Like everything in this world, transportation is always evolving. First we had electric bicycles, then electirc cars, and now we have a variety of different types of electric skateboards which are slowly but surely taking over the streets. Most of them are designed to satisfy your morning last-mile commute or just to have fun skating around town. They vary a lot when it comes to top speed, range, functionality, design and of course price. Some of the most popular ones are definitely the Boosted Board, OneWheel and Yuneec E-Go.

But enough with the technicalities, all of you can use Google and find all of this info by yourself. Let's switch to the more interesting stuff and that's my personal experience with an electric skateboard.

The first time I found out these even exist was a few months ago when I started watching Casey Neistat's videos on YouTube. This guy was riding his Boosted Board through the streets of NYC like there was no tomorrow and the only thing I could think of was: 'Damn, this is cool'. Finally, after a few months of putting money aside and researching, I found one company which was based in the EU and their board was not as expensive as most of the others.

So I ordered my board and the only thing I could do is wait. When, after a month of waiting, it finally arrived I was thrilled as a little child but I still had to wait a couple of hours for it to charge. When I took it out for my first ride I was a bit anxious if it will be as fun as I thought and if it will be worth the money I had spent.

And oh, boy was it fun. Most fun I've had in a long time. It took me a few minutes to get used to it, but since I've been snowboarding for more than 10 years and have also ridden a skateboard when I was younger, I got a hold of it quite quickly. The board I got has a range of 25km (~15 miles), top speed of 35km/h (~21mph) and charging time of about 3 hours.

It's been 3 weeks since I've got it and never have I used my car so rarely as in those 3 weeks. It takes me more or less everywhere I need to go on a daily basis in just a few minutes of fun and enjoyment.
So in conclusion, I can say that this was one of my best investments so far and I don't see me regreting that I bought it in the near future. If you're not sure whether or not you should get it, my adivce is - go for it, it's amazing, tons of fun and very useful.
Lastly, I've made a very short video of me cruising through Zagreb on my board so have a look at it as well.
All the best,
Frajer
