WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY; What I Do to Suppress Depression

How are you doing today?
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day!
And according to research and personal experiences, depression is one of the major causes of suicide.
What is depression?
According to American Psychiatric Association, Link to website depression is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act.
Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease your ability to function at work and at home.
What do I do when I feel depressed?
I want to show you what I normally do when I am alone and feel depressed.
Even though I'm not a very good artist 😃, I take my pen and sketch book then I start drawing 😊.

This takes my mind off whatever that is causing the depression.
I advise that everyone who gets depressed often should always get him/herself busy with an activity whenever he/she is alone.

It's sad how we downplay depression in Africa but it is really a cause of many suicides and suicide attempts happening around the world.
And I would be more than happy if we could pay more attention to it.
