French 17-year-old tortured to death by four men, why did he fall into the hands of drug dealers?
In 2016, a 17-year-old died after a violent attack. Recently, the Hérault Circuit Court sentenced the four perpetrators to 25 to 30 years in prison.
Four men were tried for 11 hours in the Assize Court of Hérault for "unlawful detention causing death, violent assault and threatening with a weapon" following the violent attack on 17-year-old high school student Sofiane Perrin, according to Le Parisien. They were sentenced to 25 years. They were sentenced to 25 to 30 years in prison, after the prosecutor had asked for 22 years in prison.
On March 30, 2016, in a quiet neighborhood of Montpellier, Sofiane Perrin lay still in a pool of blood as paramedics failed to revive the "sweet" boy. Next to Sofiane Perrin was his friend Edouard, 21, who was seriously wounded. Eventually, he stood up in court and bravely told the story of their ordeal.
On Monday, prosecutors said Sofiane Perrin was tortured to death by extreme violence after the teenagers stole 15,000 euros from a drug dealer's home. Judge Jean-Marc Soriano said the theft was not cleared up at the time, but the drug dealer sent three people to "torture" and "terrorize" the three teenagers.
After a lengthy ordeal, one teenager was tortured and bruised; Edward was seriously injured; and Sofiane Perrin, who sadly passed away, had occasionally smoked a small amount of marijuana. At the time of the crime, he did not seem to realize the danger of his situation, and he spent the night begging his abusers, asking them to leave them alive and insisting that he was innocent.
But the abusers continued to beat and kick Sofiane Perrin, even using baseball bats. An investigation found that Sofiane Perrin had been beaten 75 times with extreme brutality, including 25 blows to the head.
In addition, one of the drug dealer's brothers was sentenced to two years in prison for failing to assist a victim who was in danger. The investigation report revealed that early in the morning, he had seen Sofiane Perrin, who was in serious condition. The coroner believed that had he taken Sofiane Perrin to the hospital at that time, Sofiane Perrin might have survived. But that morning, Sofiane Perrin was "abandoned" near a clinic, but it was too late, Sofiane Perrin has no hope of survival.
It is reported that Hicham El Moutaouakil, 37, was sentenced to 30 years in prison; Anouar Taïbi, 28, a drug dealer, was sentenced to 28 years in prison; and Djamel Fellah, 37, a gang leader, was also sentenced to 28 years, having said. "There is no justice, we will appeal," and he had disrupted the court several times during the seven-day trial. All three are repeat offenders. In addition, 25-year-old Adam Reghi (Adame Reghi) has no criminal record. He said he suspected the victim boy of stealing money from a drug dealer and therefore committed extreme violence against him. Ultimately, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
