We are in the Reign of Grace
John 1:17 ”For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."
In the Bible verse above, it tells us that Moses gave us the Law but Jesus brought the Truth. The difference between Law and Grace is quite simple. Under the reign of law, people are made to obey God and they were devoted to please God. Under the Law, people lacked a good understanding of God's will as they were not spiritually alive. Under the Law, God dealt with them based on their understanding of Him.
The New Testament was when we entered the reign of grace, the people are born again and are spiritually alive to God.
The light of God's will is bright within us to please God and we do not struggle to please God. The Spirit of grace helps us because it lives in us. As Christians, our hearts are circumcised to please and to love God for we are the circumcision that worship God in the Spirit. We should rejoice in Christ Jesus and we should have no confidence in the flesh.
Philippians 3:3
For we [Christians] are the true circumcision, who worship God in spirit and by the Spirit of God and exult and glory and pride ourselves in Jesus Christ, and put no confidence or dependence [on what we are] in the flesh and on outward privileges and physical advantages and external appearances
Jesus Christ introduced us into the reign of grace and under this reign, we really can please God and fulfil His purpose without fleshly exertion. Under grace, God works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure. Our lives was made to function by grace through faith and it means God works in us to produce fruits of new life. We are meant to bear the fruits of righteousness and living a holy life is a priority.
Everything about our life in Christ is designed of God to function by grace through faith (Ephesians 218-9). This is why Philippians 2:13 says ”Foritis God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." This means that God is the One who is working within us to produce fruits that are of the new life. Bearing the fruits of righteousness, and living a holy life before God is not a product of stmggle; it is the result of grace. The potency of God's grace will remove the desire for sin. These means even when temptation comes, the man realizes that the desire to commit sin is gone. The grace of God helps a man that there will be no trace of poverty around him anymore as grace can enable you live above the weakness.

Today, we note that the law is not contrary to grace but allows us to see it more plainly. For where the law shows the gravity of sin, the awesome grace of God shows there is still hope.
Grace is unmerited favor,... We all need His grace
