Exodus 1.28.1 - New release adds Decred to your universal asset manager
Exodus has once more pushed another release out and this is a great one for those who are into Decred. I have looked at Decred myself and I'm a bit puzzled why Exodus prioritize Decred instead of others (Steem for example). It's double puzzeling, since Decred has an excelent wallet with possibilities to stake, vote on community matters and so forth. I doubt those functions are present in Exodus, but I have no Decred, so I haven't tried. I have on the other hand tried Decreds wallet that looks and feels pretty solid. Which makes this move kind of weird in my view. I still wait for a home for the Factom I have mined at Eobot... Yes, Factom has been in the pipeline at Exodus for a while, but seems to be pushed forward in time.
I once again get the feeling that Exodus reads my posts, because this time they have done exactly what I suggested 14 days ago. They moved the localisation to the settings pane insted of the fiddely menu location. Good. And on top of that they added Canadian Dollars to it. May I have a Norwegian localisation as well, Exodus? I don't need it, but it would be neat.
As always with Exodus, the installation is painless and I'm up and running within a minute. Obvously, I'm on a Mac, how it looks for our Windows and Linux counterparts, I can not tell. I wouldn't do crypto without exodus and bitshares light at my disposal.
1.28.1
June 22, 2017
Wallet
- NEW: Decred is here! Hurray for more assets to diversify your portfolio.
- IMPROVED: Added additional redundancy to BTC outgoing transactions. Just another fail-safe you'll never know you need until you do. :)
- IMPROVED: Exodus now prevents pesky Litecoin dust from dragging down your transaction speed. This is similar to fairy dust except more Chikun inspired. How's that for being SegWitty?
- BUGFIX: The private key export spreadsheet now has the correct columns for Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dash, Decred and Dogecoin.
Exchange
- NEW: Live rates added to the receive drop-down. Type 1 ETH on the left and see how much you can get of every asset, in exchange for your 1 ETH, all in one place.
- IMPROVED: Better error messages have been put in place in the cases of ShapeShift response errors.
- IMPROVED: The spread has been replaced in the exchange section with the exact rate you will get for exchanges.
- IMPROVED: If assets are unavailable for exchange they are now marked as "Temporarily Unavailable".
Settings
- NEW: We now support currency values for our friends up north - welcome Canadian Dollars (CAD)!
- NEW: Added localization section to change currency values between Dollars (USD), Euros (EUR), British Pounds (GBP) and Canadian Dollars (CAD).

Good write up!
It does seem a little strange how Exodus decides what coins to support. I realize that they have their road maps and criteria for adding coins, but the new coins always seem to be coins I don't posses.
Still, Exodus looks and feels pretty polished. It has a great UI and a lot of the features I'm looking for.
The little I know of their priorities is that they add from the 20 largest by market cap and coins must be available at ShapeShift. I read it somewhere. Don't remember where.
I'm pretty sure I read the same thing.
I'm really interested in Exodus but concerned I cannot use it because I live in New York and most exchanges can't operate here. Do you know if their ShapeShift exchange will work for me?
There is one way to figure it out: try.
Unless the state of new York Blocks off your internet, i think it will work well. If you currently are able to use ShapeShift, it will definitely work, because it is built on ShapeShift API.
I haven't even tried to be honest. The blocking is being done by the exchanges, not the state. None of them want to dal with Bit License. Only Coinbase/GDAX work here.
I checked with the team and New York state is blocked by ShapeShift as far as they know. We are getting screwed in this state with FinTech.
I would try a vpn then. You get cheapo solutions nowadays.
Yea, time to look into it.
use a vpn @bruckdashel
Yea, I am very quickly getting to that point it appears.
I'd like steem to be on there or both steem and sbd was a disopointment when they didn't add them in the update hopefully soon got my vote thanks karl
I finally downloaded the 'Exodus' wallet last week. Everything is great except the exchange fee. They should have went with Ripple first ;(
Great post & thx f0r the update
I wouldn't use the exchange feature myself. I prefere to do my trading on limit and with reasonable prices. Then again the price to send bitcoins is so high at the moment, It probably does not matter.
@funkit
Even so the bitcoin transfer fee's are stacking up, it's best to exchange yourself using other exchanges. The exchange fee @Exodus-wallet is damn near the same amount as the bitcoin transfer fee's 0r more :-0
Good points in this post. I was about to post a similair thread. The trustworthiness of the crypto is based on: A solid team, product, advisors, preferably VC investors, etc. Sell all cryptos that don't have this solid background. It's a waiste of money. Besides coinmarketcap.com there is: https://www.coincheckup.com. This site did all the research for you. It's truly amazing.
Thanks, following you
