Hi Jake,

That is a very unique moth. I have never seen one like it. Thanks for sharing. :-)

New York has a lovely selection of moths.
I have seen these before, but it is not uncommon to see breeds of moths I have never laid eyes on before.

Thank you for stopping by my friend. I hope you are having a nice week!

My pleasure. I hope you are having a good week too.

Awesome photo

Definitely. Those little thing don't sit still for a photo, sometimes! It's a wonder it looks so pristine, considering how delicate they are. Maybe recently hatched?
(The gardener in me would have me shooing it away from my plants in a hurry, no matter how cute.. caterpillars are not good!)

I was wondering if it recently hatched too. It does have that "new life" look!

Moths are interesting little creatures. I did some research on them about a year ago. They are notably not afraid of humans and will let you get pretty close sometimes, and the genetic selection per region is pretty mind blowing too.

This one was just hanging out relaxing :)

Do they cause damage in the garden? Bugs in the plants don't bother me too much unless it's fungus gnats, I've grown to despise them. (I mostly only grow things indoors so bugs aren't a major issue.)

Thank you my friend! It felt like there was something special about this encounter :)
