Indoor Gardening Update - Taking Action
Greetings Steemians,
As some of you know I'm growing a small variety of plants in a small environment with low powered LED's. (Light Emitting Diodes)
These photos are taken under normal lighting in my kitchen. I did my best to get some close up shots. My camera picture gets grainy the further I zoom in, so getting the detailed images I'm after is a little challenging, but not entirely impossible.
As you can see here there is something very wrong with the foliage. I do not know if this is a nutrient problem/disease/light spectrum problem, but I am suspecting it might be a strange disease. @drutter suggested taking them off altogether and not messing around, due to the possibility of spreading. He was right, today new growth appears to be "catching" whatever this is. A big shout out to drutter for always offering advice and help and checking out my posts. Check out his blog if you're into gardening, he knows his stuff!

Around the edges of the small leaves, you can see the discoloration, furthermore the entire leaves appear to be lacking in chlorophyll. The choice was pretty easy, take it all off and let new growth start.

And here is the final result:

I think this plant still has a chance.
I put it on the floor for now, much further from the light, just to "ease up" and let it heal.(Plus I'm not sure if light burn was a factor so we'll see.)

Here you can see a tie down. (Twist tie from a bread bag.) This is an effective method for manipulating plant growth, specifically for space and optimal light absorption and opening up new node development in places where it would not have happened naturally.

Now let's take a look at the pepper plants. They are also displaying some issues, but nothing too serious. I'm really not sure what is causing what appears to be a lack of chlorophyll with the plants. If the bean plant has a disease, I hope these didn't catch it.

Look at how this leaf died and has some dead spots. This is similar to the bean plant. I'm wondering if under watering is a factor, because this Pro Mix medium retains moisture much longer than I would like. I am planning to get some organic soil to add

Although I like this stuff, I really feel like it needs some soil added.

Here is another photo of the Hungarian Wax Pepper plants. The solution here is simple, give a good watering, and remove the dead foliage.

I also gave the Jalapenos plants a drink, and I must say they are looking pretty good!

That's all for now, thank you for stopping by. I hope you're all having a wonderful day!
Much love,
@futuremind

Great you are taking action! How is the action on the guitar going? ;)
See you soon!
Thank you!
Uh oh.. 🤣 I might have to crunch something out quickly. I've had some things going on and haven't had it in my hands much the past few days.
