In my first blog since start of corona I want to take you back to 1995: the year Westwood Studio's launched a game titled "Command and Conquer - Tiberian Dawn" (C&C). With doing that defining a whole new level of Real-Time-Strategy (RTS) gaming !

Westwood studio used to be a small player in the gaming-business, however by making "entertainment meet professionalism" they managed to get into the Guinness Book of records with C&C. No less than six records , including "Biggest Selling RTS Series"!

Anyway Westwood now is part of E.A. (#sad). Some of the original developers at Westwood founded Petroglyph Games and went to E.A. with the request to remaster our beloved title. And they agreed !!

Some developers from E.A. joined with the original programmers now with Petroglyph Games together with modders from within the very active community, new designers from Asia and they even managed to get back in touch with the Tiberian Sons (who created all soundtracks for the original C&C)! They also managed to get in touch with E.V.A. who is back with new spoken audio!

For the remake they gained access to the old storage lockers where the old video footage was stored. While going through the painstaking process of reviewing all footage they stumbled upon some b-role footage (footage that was filmed but didn't make it into the game). All of that has been processed and is now included in the remaster of the game.

No they didn't change the game-play and even the story line is exactly the same, however the graphics, audio, extra footage it has all been enhanced and added into this remaster. And guess what ? It's now only 17 euro on steam !! (nope not being sponsored lol)

Whether you love RTS gaming, are a C&C old-school enthusiast or have no clue what I am on about but are looking for a new adventure to dive into: check out this game !

Or not, it's really up to you !

But if you do let me just say "Welcome back, Commander"
