My Second Steemit Post! 🙌🎉

This is my first OFFICIAL post and I thought it would be a great opportunity to share some of my work while also entering in the Whale Welcome Giveaway Contest!!

As I shared in my 'introduceyourself' post, I am a filmmaker/photographer that loves exploring the world and capturing dope shots! 📷🎉

In the world of filmmaking there are a lot of tools available to manifest your vision, from segway steady cams to 3d helicopter rigs. Countless apparatuses to place your camera to get the specific shot that you desire.

In the past 6 years of my journey, I found that my favorite tool would have to be the drone. I remember when the first DJI Phantom came to the market, my roommates and I all chipped in 25% so we could invest in this future technology. I remember flight time was only 8 minutes and with only 1 battery, we would take turns flying 2 minutes at a time.. oh the good 'ol days.

Drones have revolutionized the world. When I reflect on how much it has helped our production company, I feel an extreme amount of gratitude that these amazing machines exist. They literally allow you to place a camera ANYWHERE. What used to take a crew of people, a full-sized helicopter, and a huge budget, can now be done by one person in a matter of minutes. Drones have many other uses including agriculture, search & rescue teams, and now possibly Amazon delivery?!

My business partner Will and I have been surfing this whole technological wave since the beginning and it has been a crazy ride, from small little pocket drones, to giant carbon fiber octocopters that carry 15 pound cameras, we have really seen drones change the industry.

Anyway, back to the point of this post, this matters to me because I feel that there has been so much controversy about drones in the past couple years. We find people using drones to smuggle drugs over borders, people attaching bombs & weapons to them, and using them to spy on people. Unfortunately, like everything, you must wield your tools responsibly and I personally feel so bummed when people misuse these wonderful machines with bad intentions..

Drones have allowed so much expansion of my mind and imagination. They have made it possible to capture shots that you never could've imagined a decade ago. It has allowed me to explore my creativity on an even deeper level, and manifest things that I only dreamed of a few years back.

In a spiritual/woo woo perspective, I feel that drones are just consciousness trying to observe reality from more vantage points. Having a drone is almost like having God vision, when you fly 400 meters up and look down on the earth, its God's view.

So for my second post on SteemIt, I wanted to share what I feel is some of my best work so far.

1 Year with the DJI Phantom 4

This video is a compilation of all the best drone shots I captured from April 2016 to April 2017. From Thailand to Hong Kong, China to the Bahamas, this year has been a crazy one full of some incredible life-changing adventures.
