AsoBlockchain and the Future of Blockchain in Costa Rica
The objective of the event was to formally present the objectives of the Association to the community and to function as a networking space for all those present. We have short words from Otto Mora, Federico Zamora, Gabo Esquivel, Edgar Fernandez, Walter Montes and Daniel Rojas. In addition, we were accompanied by government professionals, companies, the press and the education sector, as well as international guests involved in the technology.
The Association comes to play a crucial role in the advancement of technology in the country, since it becomes the organized and official representation of the movement. Among the activities that correspond to the Association include institutional support (regulation, legislation), common message of the industry, umbrella for all communities with their various objectives, community coordination, educate about the benefits of the blockchain and crypto, and participate and amplify the message to position Costa Rica as a technology hub.
Our goal is to promote trust, transparency, security and innovation through distributed systems, decentralized ledger technology and programable blockchains in Costa Rica.
The Association works as an umbrella for all communities:
Comunidad BlockchainCR: All about programming and technology.
Comunidad Bitcoin: Gathering point for those interested in Bitcoin.
EOS Costa Rica: EOS Community and Block Producer Candidate.
During the presentation the Tico Blockchain Conference was also officially announced. I'll take place on the first week of February 2019.

This event represents the first major conference in the country of this technology and together with experts in the field, the most relevant topics of the blockchain and crypto scene in the world will be discussed.
