Lost boy.exe - 4chan's terrifying video game

Since the emergence of the Internet there have been an enormous number of pages which are responsible for creating a group of people who talk about a specific topic, such as music, movies, video games, among other things, these pages were given the name of forum.

Some forums became very popular, others disappeared over time, but despite all these years there is a forum that has lasted for over 16 years, where many important and interesting anecdotes of the entire Internet have passed, its name is 4chan.

Within this forum there are many boards which imply the content found within them, among these is the famous / V / which refers to the world of video games, a place where hundreds of things have been discussed about this wonderful industry, however, one day something would happen that would turn this forum into the curse of many people.

There was a time when indie horror video games, such as Slenderman, were beginning to be the center of attraction for many, so getting a game of this style was very common in those days, it was as well as a day in one of the topics of 4chan appeared a person showing screenshots of a totally unknown game which called Lost Boy.exe.

Many gamers were surprised and never heard a rumor about this video game, the user who left the name addressed everyone with the following words: "I finally got it ... Lost Boy.exe, here I leave the download link". It would also show some screenshots claiming that it was a video game.

Many users of the forum downloaded it to try it, they wanted to experience those scares that commonly these video games usually give, it was a game where you would find yourself locked in a maze, sometimes you could see on the walls pictures with references to Jesus Christ and others with satanic images, but you could never see any way out or something that really scared you.

A week later several users began to suspect that this video game was a simple fraud to attract attention, however, the user who published Lost Boy.exe would begin to fill the forum with photos of people who were playing the video game, their personal passwords, bank accounts and much more data found on the computers where the game was running.

It turns out that Lost Boy.exe contained a very powerful Trojan virus for the time, which could record everything contained in your computer's hard drive, this was done while you were exploring its labyrinth. Worst of all is that the creator of the game showed through the forum everything he stole from his victims.

Immediately the entire 4chan forum began to alarm its users that under no circumstances would download Lost Boy.exe, in addition to asking for help spreading the voice over the Internet, filling with chaos and fear anyone who belonged to any of their communities.

It is simply something terrifying that someone through a video game can leave you totally vulnerable and exposed among millions of people on the Internet, so you must always be cautious and not go through those bad times suffered by those users of 4chan.
