The dark side of Pikmin
The company Nintendo has been characterized by having excellent video games which are full of adventures and challenges, some of them have arguments a little simple, but to see the background of these details in detail there are details that can make us think things that perhaps their own developers did not realize, this happens in the universe of Pikmin.
The story of the first Pikmin is very simple, a space traveler named Olimar has certain difficulties with his spaceship and collides with a planet, here he meets some very small creatures called Pikmin, which help him find the parts of his ship to repair it and return to his home planet.
Here we can realize that Pikmin by themselves are beings who have no chance of surviving because they do not have enough attributes to perform tasks, however, when dozens of them are formed everything changes, being able to destroy enemies, carry heavy objects between many more tasks, something very similar to ants.
Up to this point everything seems normal and simple, but everything changes in a bit of a disturbing way in his second installment called Pikmin 2. When Olimar returns to his planet he inadvertently takes an object on his ship from the planet where he had had the accident, this is when a merchant is surprised to see it and tells him it is worth too much money, so Olimar receives a huge amount, this was a simple refreshment cap.
Olimar knowing this decides to return again to the planet of the first installment to explore it further and get more of these objects. Here you will find Duracell brand batteries, soaps, a cup, silver coins, among other things, so we can clearly deduce that this planet is indisputably the Earth.
As we walk through most places we can see that the fauna and flora have changed and although there are multiple objects created by humans these are not seen anywhere, this makes us wonder where are they? Although this explanation is not official, everything points to an apocalyptic event that occurred in the past, making the human race extinct.
It can be deduced that humans by having confrontations between them came to the brink of extinction, by creating weapons which would cause totally irreversible damage, making people unable to live in that ecosystem. In time, nature itself would create new fauna and flora, giving rise to the creatures that have the protagonism of the game, the Pikmin.
Although the original story or plot of the game never explains it to you, it's very easy to think about it when we see so many objects created by humans and none of them inhabit the planet, turning Pikmin into a video game with a dark side that can make you think how unfortunate our future could be.
Do you think Pikmin reflects the future of humanity? Tell me your opinion in the comments box
