Video games in which cheating or tricks are not recommended

in INVEN Gaming4 years ago

Tricks in video games have existed for decades in this industry, in theory allowing players to have an advantage in order to pass a certain obstacle or level. Among the most famous we can find lives or infinite ammunition, pass from one level to another or be god mode, ie be totally invincible throughout the game.

Some of these tricks are discovered by players through bugs, however, many developers leave them in their code on purpose for the player's enjoyment. There are programmers who go a little further than normal and add a touch of personality to the game code, leaving some trick exposed within the game, but punishing the player if they do.

Within the extensive catalog of video games we can find really curious cases, to name one example we have a title called Heretic, which was based on the graphic engine DOOM Engine. If we thought of placing the IDKFA code that gave you absolutely everything you needed (keys, armor, weapons and ammunition) they would take away all the weapons and only give you a stick to defend yourself.

Below, you'll see a short list of video games where you shouldn't cheat or use tricks, if for some reason you abuse them you can expect an unpleasant surprise.

Banjo Kazooie

One of the best 3D platform games, released in 1998 on the Nintendo 64. In the level Treasure Trove Cove there is a sand castle which has on the floor a series of letters, when you arrive you must simply fall into them forming the name of the game to unlock the code section.

There were codes for multiple things, if you put one in the game's antagonist called Gruntilda it will warn us that something bad will happen to us if we keep using tricks. Ignoring the message tells us that it will erase all our progress if we use another code. If you think it was a lie and you ignored her warning, when you reset the game all your progress will disappear without being able to recover anything.

Animal Crossing

Since its first appearance in 2001, Animal Crossing has become one of the best video games from Nintendo, which has seen the light in different consoles like the DS, Game Cube, 3DS, Wii or the Switch. In this game we can do certain things that benefit us with items that are generated randomly, with the purpose of selling them, donating them or having them as a collection.

If for some reason we don't get the item we want and we turn off the console thinking that we can try again, a character called Ressetti will appear and give us a mandatory talk on why we shouldn't do that, making sure that we are paying attention by asking a series of questions, which we must answer correctly if we want to continue playing.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

One of the best games in the saga The Legend of Zelda released for the Game Boy in 1993 and recently re-launched as a remake for the Nintendo Switch. In this title there is a store where we can buy certain items with our rupees, if we try to take one without paying, the seller doesn't let us leave his store, forcing us to return it.

But there is the possibility of taking such an object with us and making the seller dizzy so that he cannot see us when we leave, however, this is the worst mistake we can make. If we enter the store again, the seller will be waiting for us furiously, throwing us a lightning bolt that cannot be avoided, ending our life instantly.

These were some video games in which it is not advisable to cheat or play tricks, since you will be punished for doing so. If you know another game that fits this feature perfectly, you can indicate it in the comments section.
