The aims and objectives of being in a tertiary institution as well as acquiring a tertiary education varies from one person to another. For some it's an avenue to learn, and be the best; while for others it's just an avenue to be free and fly.

A (tertiary institution) Campus is a land of absolute freedom from all forms of parenting. A universal set with various sets, subsets and loads of elements. A land of mysteries and misery. A land of rising and falling. A place where though your starting matters but it does not matters as much as your finishing. A place of love and heart breaks. A place where religious, political and financial giants are nurtured. A land of no return for few unfortunate ones.

BASIC DEFINITIONS

Aim: the directing of effort towards a goal.

Objective: something towards which effort is directed (goal or end of action).

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  1. Anyone who lives life casually, usually end up a casualty.

  2. No matter your position in life, you can’t live above counsel.

  3. One who cannot manage change will remain unhappy.

  4. Ireespective of the difficult situation you might face, have a mindset of success, else you'll be prone to failure.

  5. If you’ve not made up your mind on fulfilling God’s mandate, then your purpose is not defined.

WHAT KIND OF LIFE DO YOU INTEND TO LEad/ARE YOU LEadiNG ON CAMPUS?

In answering the above question, recall Newton’s third law of motion which states that “to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction”.

Also, you must remember there is so much embedded in the kind of life you choose to lead on campus. Leading a purposeful life on campus is of utmost importance to the future. Hence you are to choose wisely.

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

THE KIND OF LIFE TO LEAD AS A (GoOd) STUDENT

Below is a list of the right kind of life to lead:

  1. A life of academic excellence -2Timothy 2:15

  2. A life of time maximization

  3. A life of cost minimization

  4. A life dedicated to what is true

  5. A life of perpetual hunger for excellence

  6. A life that seeks to inspire others

  7. A life that seeks understanding -Proverbs 4:7; 9:6; 17:27.

  8. A life dedicated to the works of Christ
