Gail Arts: Gouache on Board Art Practice
Hello Steemit friends! Are you having a good time?
Anyhow, I would like to show you one of the recent works that I made. I actually started it around one in the morning (Philippine Standard Time) since I could not sleep. Should I say how art has been my remedy from sleepless night? Just kidding.
In case you had been following me since 2017, I know you have observed that I really love to paint flowers. Aside from the fact that I had been enjoying on making different strokes on different types of flowers, flowers remind me of beauty that we all deserve to see.
The reference by the way is one of the paintings that I have seen over my facebook timeline. Thus I cannot really say that the entire painting is mine. I suppose the artist used acrylic. Since the amount of my acrylic is limited, I decided to use gouache paints instead.
I love gouache because aside from the fact that it is like watercolors, the colors are just so vibrant. Well, basically it depends on the amount of water you put and how one mixes his ot her paints.
Since this is an art practice, I decided to use the black portion of an illustration board. Its size is 1/8. I also decided not to use pencil as it may consume me a lot of time. I also got used on making outline with the medium that I am using, such as gouache for this instance.
I wanted to create a hyper-realistic type of artwork but since I am attached to the impressionism art style, I resorted to the latter mentioned.
I used both round, oblong and flat brushes. I particularly used my angled brush and this super thin brush that I bought from Watsons (it is actually for nail art, but I just find it so useful in putting details) for the small details
For the background then I used light blue and pink to give a hint of femininity. I do not know why I've thought of it that way.
Now that my artwork is done, I am excited to show this to my mom. I actually have a lot of aquarelle-based artworks. I just hope my mom would decide to frame them soon.
By the way, did you enjoy the art process? Or you want to share some insights? Do not forget to comment down below.
Thank you for reading!

OMG @gailbelga! You are such a beautiful talent * ____ * I feel so absurdly embarrassed now that you had said such ridiculously nice things to me and my meager capabilities aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I love this painting so much <3 Your strokes! Such beautiful and expressive strokes <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Incredible post, and the step by step presentation is wonderful, too * ___ *
Nah. I mean it when I said I like things created by other artists since I love all other art styles. And thank you for appreciating it. Let us make the world a better place through our art. It heals! 💕

Hi gailbelga,

Such a beautiful piece of art.
When I was seeing step by step, I looked at the second picture and the first white blue flower blooming out of that frame. God I am wishing if I could do this little of magic with my hands. Such talent. Thanks for sharing it :) congrats on your curie :)
Thank you so much dear. I will try to be more detail-oriented next time including the strokes to be used.

What a beautiful painting! I can imagine it helps you with sleepless nights :) Doing something so rewarding must be helpful.. I love it! I especially like the second photo as to me the black background is so good! It is contrasting the flowers and makes them pop up. The final painting is lovely too.. I just like it simpler, hence my favorite would be black :)
Thank you for sharing and congratulations on your well deserved curie vote!
Thank you for your kind words. I also love the black background but I was experimenting so I ended up with a colored background. I'll try to make a new one though with a black background. It seems nice to have a set of this type of artwork.
Again, thank you so much💕💕

hi @gailbelga
maybe you said it joking, but I suffered from insomnia for a long time and maybe I had your ability and your creativity to spend time doing masterpieces. your design is beautiful, I love to see the process with which an artist arrives at the end result because it seems to me, for a moment, to be in your hands and in your mind! Beautiful photos, I love the third one with that wonderful flower.
Is painting your job or your passion?
congratulations on your curie vote and thanks for sharing with us
Hello! I really appreciate your words and with that I am grateful. I am an artist and I teach art to kids during summer. Hopefully I can teach art for a lifetime because it really makes me very happy.
I do believe that everyone is an artist and I know through time you can also find your own art style even if you are still a beginner. ❤️

art and children! perhaps there is nothing more beautiful! I wish you could do it forever !!
for the second point instead, honestly, I don't know: I think that someone has a gift in the hands or in the voice, others do not. certainly this does not mean that one cannot draw or sing the same ... but the result .... do you understand? it's not quite the same !! :-))
Oh! That's so sweet of you. It is really making me giggle. ❤️💕 Thank you for uplifting my mood. ❤️💕

Beautiful work.
Hart to tell whether they are hanging on branches or floating on some aqueous background.
I think that the darker background would have made the flowers more prominent, but that's just me :)
I prefer the 2nd one. Is it for sale?
I would love to sell it Ate but ayaw ni mama. Haha naloka ako sa sagot nya. I'll just make another one though.

Hello @gailbelga, sorry to hear about your sleeping problems. It's nice to see you used your time wisely and created a nice painting. However, sleepless nights can cause a lot of trouble, so you should do something about that.
I love flowers and of course, i love paintings that show flowers. I'm not familiar with the paints, I know them by name but that is all, I don't have further knowledge. I'd rather stick to drawing which is much more easier for me.
This is why I admire people who can master the brush and do great things like you did with this painting. It's lovely. Well done!
Hi Erikah! Thank you for being sweet. I will keep in mind to try to sleep earlier because indeed it led me to have problems with my immune system. Now I am having hard cough. 💕
