How STEEM Will in the Future End the Puppeteering of Facebook and Google

A few months ago, one of my good friends had the posting button of his Steemit blog permanently disabled on his Chrome browser.

My friend couldn't post anything to his Steemit blog using his Chrome browser. It was a traumatic and devastating experience, considering that he was already accustomed to using his Chrome browser.

What was my friend's crime? He had committed murder by simply uploading to @Dlive (when they were still here) a video documentary about Bill Browder, an American billionaire who made huge fortunes in Russia and got involved in a shady tax scandal.

The same video my friend uploaded to @Dlive, had been banned on YouTube and Facebook and other mainstream media platforms.

In short, the video had been banned in the whole of America. The oppressive powers have also done everything possible to remove the video from any known website. It was that terrible and horrible.

Freedom of Expression Thrown to the Wind

At the moment, whether we choose to admit it or not, Facebook and Google (two American private companies) have transmogrified into monsters. They have become a willing tool in the hands of the oppressors who manipulate them to control the masses.

Sadly, these powerful oppressors filter their contents (in the name of censorship) and dictate which or what should be removed or published.

They determine which information is legal or illegal. They don't give a fuck about your freedom of expression, your right to express your ideas and opinions in words or in print. The abnormalities go on and on.

STEEM, the Blockchain of Liberty

A lot of us here on the STEEM blockchain may not acknowledge it but we are by far luckier than millions of people of out there. I say this not because I feel like hyping STEEM. I say this because it is the blunt truth. We're free beings because we live on STEEM, the blockchain of liberty.

Every day, several fantastic decentralized applications are being built on the STEEM blockchain to raise our voice. Presently, we have prominent projects like Steemit, Dtube, Dsound, Tribes, Esteem, Busy, Steempeak, 3speak, etc safeguarding our conscience and thoughts.

This is why I have strong reasons to believe that @Dtube and @3speak will give YouTube a run for its money in the promising years ahead. Even @appics has got what it takes to confront Instagram in the coming days.

Therefore, pay less attention to the present level of development of the Steem blockchain. Things will never stay static, especially with the recent introduction of EIP that will fund good and promising proposals.

The truth is that a number of enlightened people and a vast majority of journalists are getting frustrated with the censorship (puppeteering) of the mainstream media like Google and Facebook.

We're already seeing reputable journalists joining us. And the number is increasing by the day. Many more people and projects will come on STEEM because it is the only combo blockchain at the moment.

Although we're still very young in this journey, I know there will be challenges. Nevertheless, we'll overcome.

As the drama of the blockchain technology continues to unfold, one thing is becoming clear - the dominance of Google and Facebook will continue to wane and STEEM will play actor in that fight.
