MICRO FICTION: The Wrong Skydiver

in #story7 years ago

"Ready. One.....two....three...go!" Captain Bruce gave his orders before Jack and I jumped down from the hovering helicopter which was now about 1,000 feet above the sea level.

It was the first time I went skydiving. And I was indescribably scared. Being in Jack's company had palliated my fears until Jack himself confessed, while we were caught like hopeless bats in the air, that it was also his first time. Damn.

I did not know how I activated my parachute and landed safely in the large ocean beneath us. It was the first and the last time I ever went skydiving.
