DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION THROUGH ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR.

AN ILLUSTRATION TO BLACK AND WHITE?

Months ago I had a commission from a boy from Mexico who wanted an illustration for a friend, only he wanted it in black and white. He had never illustrated like this, and I thought it was not going to turn out well, but I took a risk and said yes.

First, I had to make the sketch, so far we were doing well. At that time I used to make the drawings with a bit of realism, that is, hair by hair and so, later I would optimize this to another style that I would like more.

The truth is that while illustrating this girl, I thought about how to paint her in black and white and that in turn it would not look strange and yet, she looked alike.

When I had it ready, I started to imagine it in color and it was taking shape. But then I transported all that to black and white, and obvious, looking at the original photo that also had this effect.

And well, putting the base filling was not a big deal, but that's how it turned out. Surprisingly I liked it and already wanted to integrate the shadows to visualize it better.	Here were already the shadows and lights throughout the body, it was theoretically completely ready. I used gradients and fill shadows to give depth, which I thought would cost me, it turned out to be a very easy job and in a few hours I finished it.

Now the background came, I almost always knew what background to do to further animate the illustration, other times it was very complicated for me. In this case I knew that I would like a kind of moon around.

FINALLY FINISHED!

¿UNA ILUSTRACIÓN A BLANCO Y NEGRO?

Hace meses tuve una comisión de un chico de México que quería una ilustración para una amiga, solo que la quería en blanco y negro. Nunca había ilustrado así, y pensé que no iba a salir bien, pero me arriesgué y le dije que sí.

Primero, debía hacer el boceto, hasta ahí íbamos bien. Para aquel entonces solía hacer los dibujos con un poco de realismo, o sea, cabello por cabello y así, más tarde optimizaría esto a otro estilo que me gustaría más.

Lo cierto es que mientras ilustraba a esta muchacha, pensaba en como pintarla en blanco y negro y que a su vez no quedara rara y no obstante, que se pareciera.

Cuando la tuve lista, me la empecé a imaginar en color e iba agarrando forma. Pero luego transporte todo eso a blanco y negro, y obvio, fijándome de la foto original que también tenía este efecto.

Y bueno, poner el relleno base no era la gran cosa, pero así quedó. Sorprendentemente me gustaba y ya quería integrar las sombras para visualizarmelo mejor.	Aquí ya estaban las sombras y luces en todo el cuerpo, estaba en teoría completamente lista. Utilicé degradados y las sombras en relleno para dar profundidad, lo que pensé que me costaría, resultó ser un trabajo muy fácil y en pocas horas lo terminé.

Ahora venía el fondo, casi siempre sabía qué fondo hacer para animar más la ilustración, otras veces se me complicaba muchísimo. En este caso sabía que me gustaría una especie de luna alrededor.
